sit-and-stand double strollers???

i have an almost 4 yr old who is almost 50 pounds, i have a new baby on the way who will not even ride in a stroller till 6 months-ish of age, i have a great side walk small town where i can walk to grocery store and library and want the stroller for the tired trip home and stuff to lug, i also want to be able to fold up my stroller and put it in the trunk of my ford focus (normal size care trunk), i want there to be an under place to put stuff (books bags etc), and i would love it if there were a retractable roof over both baby seat area and sit and stand area.
oh and it has to be able to hold an infant car seat thing too.

so what do you wise mommas know?

thanks so much!

Joovy Caboose maybe? I don't own one, but for a while I was thinking I wanted a sit/stand model, and that was the one I had decided on. It has great reviews. But then I decided to get a jogger instead!

we have the joovy caboose. you can only stand on it to 40lbs though and there isn't much storage, though you could probabput groceries and books on the bench seating. also it barely fits into my 2005 Dodge Neon's trunk. oh also, the seat has to be reclined to carry the bucket seat nwhich means my 2-year-ols has to stand and can't sit until brother is older.

Otherwise, I love it!

I posted in your double stroller thread. I also want to recommend a push scooter, like a Razor scooter, for your daughter to accompany you on walks. They are pretty inexpensive, teach balance skills transferrable to biking, compact, and fun.

I started out looking at the Joovy Caboose for my kids... and got talked into a Pliko P3.

It's a more expensive option but it's perfect for my town needs.... my dd rides on the back, it held the baby bucket (but dd couldn't ride on the back then, she just held my hand) and my 7 mo old rides up front. Actually, I often end up slinging the baby and my girl rides the stroller. That works fine also.

The complaint about the P3 is that it's basket is not a spacious as the Graco baskets.

But I love that it is a 'heavy duty' umbrella stroller. There is a sunshade and the seat reclines.

The only ones I saw were when we lived in Europe. I'd look at European brands.

They have cool ones like this:
