Read your car manual for installing the top tethers; I installed mine with a kit from Subaru- $20.00.

Also, I noticed the Regent IRL at BRU and Babyuniverse; it was great! It is a big seat but it's nice. The little things that make the Britaxes nice add up and then you get a little spoiled. :

I can't believe BRU wouldn't sell you your seat! How frustrating!

Yeh,definately frustrating.Especially since they were on the shelf.And even more because the "problem"with the seats isn't even a safety issue.Britax isn't even requesting anyone send their seats back.

So the Radian is fine even if you have no LATCH?

I've been going back and forth on this forever. I have to get the new seat. I'm just worried that the Regent won't fit in the back seat of our '97 Sentra with the second seat we'll be adding soon. Also, we don't have the tether anchor.

As long as you don't need 3 seating positions in the rear, the Regent will fit in any car with another seat. The center seat will just be unusable. Not many booties fit between two average size car seats in compact cars anyway.

I had a regent and did not care for it much. I sold it to a friend and she likes it. I bought 2 recaros and LOVE them. They are much more narrow. No, they don't harness to 80 pounds. Frankly, I wouldn't force an 80 pound person to be in a 5 pt harness. My daughter could use the 5 pt harness until she was 6. She still has tons of height room at nearly 8 years old. That said, I don't remember if it's even cheaper than the regent. Quality wise, I think recaro seats are just nicer.

Yeh,but my daughter is only 2 and already almost 40lbs.So at 80 lbs she still may be young enough where I will insist(force)she is in a harness.Plus the Recaro that is out now only hanesses to 40lbs so she would have to use the booster option.Unless there is another Recaro that you're talking about.Which there easily could be as far as I know because I am no expert.I just know I have a giant kid so a giant seat seems to make sense.

Ah. Yes well, mine is petite I guess. We have the Recaro Young Sport. Side impact protection was higher on my list than harness height.

interesting about the "recall" .... Our seat is already installed with the short belt method because our seatbelts were JUST barely long enough with the long belt and it left me feeling a bit uncomfortable LOL. I will have to call britax about the stickers/update tho! Thank you!
