Doll Boots - Can Anyone Help?

I have made a 16" doll similar to a Waldorf doll (from a Magic Cabin kit) and have finished all the clothes for it except for boots. The doll is for a request from my daughter for a "Nala" doll (Nala is a girl in Brother Bear 2 who seems to be from sort of a prehistoric tribe that might be Inuit based). Her costume is kind of an anorak over pants and I want to make soft boots out of fabric, about knee-high with fur trim. My first attempt ended up like socks and did not work at all! I can sew both hand and machine and I can adjust size to fit my doll and do the trim. I just need to know the basic pieces/shapes to cut and where to put the seams.

TIA!

Sorry, I don't have a pattern to share, but here is a site I have used in the past. Perhaps looking at one of these boot styles withh help you create some of your own.

What a great site! There are a lot of cute boots. I think I may be able to figure out how to get basically what I want by looking at the way these boots are put together. At least it is a place to start.

Thanks!

My daughter just indignantly informed me that the doll is Neetah (sp?) not Nala. Nala is a girl lion in The Lion King. Or maybe Lion King 2? I really need to get my Disney characters straight!

Glad you found the link useful. Good luck with it- I hope you will post a photo for us all to admire and be inspired by, when you finish.

Well, I got my boots done. They are not exactly what I wanted (still to much like socks or stockings), but at least my arctic girl doll isn't barefoot anymore! dd was not particularly impressed, but she was playing with the doll, so I think she is OK with them. I hope to post some pictures later today.

(This is my first attempt linking to a picture, so we'll see if this works!
