I'm in the beginning stages of looking for an organization to get certified with to be a CBE. I have my eyes on Birthworks...what is everyone's opinion of that org? Anyone certified with them? How is the training, etc?

I am in training with Birth Works. I love the philosophy of the organization. The training is pretty intensive with a lot of books to read, reports, research papers, a hands on workshop and exam. I am trying to finish by this fall and hoping to do my first class after Christmas.

when did you start this process? I'm curious how long it takes or if there is a time limit? I really love the philosophy of the org too, but just not sure if I can do the money part

I started in January 2005. You have 2 years to complete the program. They do offer an extention (at a cost) if you don't finish in that time, which I had to take advantage of because of poor time management and overall busy-ness of life with having babies, moving, etc. If you manage your time well you can easily complete it within a year.
