very stressed and fustrated

Well, this month has not got off to a good start.

Since my medical insurance still hadn't authorized medical supplies for me and my 2 girls, I had to take out a $1000.00 loan, use the $300.00 in our vacation fund, and $100.00 from my SSI check just to pay for a months supply of catheters for 3 people, adult diapers, gloves, baby wipes, and Pediasure.
As a result, I couldn't pay all of my bills this month. I still owe $30.00 for utilities, $65.00 for my credit card, and $24.00 for the TV bill. My Mom told me to pay a little bit on each bill, so that way the late fees weren't so high next month. Us 3 girls have no extra money at all this month. Both girls will have no choice but to wear sposie pull-ups this month, because I don't have the extra money to wash cloth diapers. I'm actually glad that we still have at least 3 cases of Pampers Easy-Ups the state covered for us last year.

I am so ticked off at the state right now. I asked my Mom if they were waiting for us 3 girls to wind up in the hospital with kidney problems before they authorized everything. I have had a bad UTI for the past 4 days, becuase I have only been able to cath 3 times a day (I normally cath 7-8 times a day). I have basically waited until my bladder overflows and leaks, which I know is not good for my kidney's or the part of my bladder that was augmented. I have contacted the state seberal times, but have got nowhere with them. This is all very fustrating.

I'm sorry, mama. Can you see a silver lining?

I am so sorry. Can you find out the names of any supervisors or anything? I have a SN son and gets state services and I know in the past that when I had problems I have gone to supervisors and everything was magickally taken care of quite quickly. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease, KWIM? Also, are there any churches, hospitals, county agencies that you can contact for help? Maybe even Salvation Army or something to get some extra money for med supplies until the state gets their butt in gear? Make some phone calls if you can and see what is out there. Good luck sweetie.

Those medical issues make survival a whole new ball of wax, don't they? I agree with the pp- be polite and persistent, and they will hurry your case along. Those people don't get paid enough to deal with consistent phone calls from the same person day after day. Another idea I had was to call a non profit hospital (like a catholic hospital) if you have one at all near you. Explain your situation and if it's supplies you need, I bet they'd help you until the state comes through. Don't endanger your health! Your babies need you! I'm rooting for you, mama!
