Just wanted to let you know that I had a baby boy this morning at 1:22am - will update more later - going to bed....
****new info*****
He was 8lbs - 11oz (and that was 11 days early!)- 21 inches long - his name is Samuel Arthur Wolf - first name is after my dad and middle names are after Dh's grandfathers who have both passsed...
It was a pretty intense ordeal for a home waterbirth - baby's head was tilted (acynclatic - sp?) and his left hand was up by his head too - he moved in that position down the birth canal - and was dragging the anterior lip of my cervix with him almost until crowning - then once the head was out - the shoulders got stuck and we had to get me out of the tub onto the bathroom floor on my hands and knees for the infamous "gaskin maneuver" - and even after the shoulders were free - he didn't just slide the rest of the way out - the midwives had to really pull to get his abdomen and legs out - he was really wedged in there and did not want to come out.... even with all that - active labor was only about 5.5 hours - but it seemed MUCH longer - and I was so exhausted by the time he came out (still am).. oh and I did not tear one bit!
I was going to call my buddy and have her update everyone - but I know she is still on her babymoon and I have a slight computer addiction - so it seemed easier to do it myself - I will try to get the entire birth story done this week...
