I went to a baby resale shop today and got some good deals!

~a pair of old navy maternity jeans- $8.99
~a pair of motherhood capris- $7.99
~2 shirts- $3.99 each
~a moses basket (YAYYAYAYAYAY!)- $9.99
~Dr Sears' The Baby Book- $2.99

I am most excited about the moses basket. I have to get the bedding for it but that's OK. It was brand new.

Anyone else have any bargains to share?

Nice!! We don't need any furniture or anything, but I'm always scouring thrift stores for clothes for DD and I. The other day I got her the cutest shirt ever (in 2 different colors!) for $1.99 each!!

I just spent $13 and got:
-brand new, with tags, Old Navy Denim skirt (full panel)
-a beautiful, striped 100% silk collared blouse, maternity and LONG!!!!
-a brand new pair of cotton pj pants
-a motherhood t-shirt
and not maternity, but exciting
-two giant pillows that I can cover with the rad fabric I got like two months ago (it's red with gold paisleys) for the specific use as floor pillows but couldn't find anything cheap enough to be worth not just buying new pillows.

I love love love thrift stores.

Awesome. I love a good deal!

The town closest to us had community garage sales a few weeks back and I got the kids a decent amount of clothes for fall/winter for super cheap.

There aren't any really good thrift stores around us though, which is a bummer.

I am so psyched about thrift stores and consignment shops. The ones near me take only top-quality stuff and it is SO cheap, and then I will sell it back to them!

I know this is bad, but we have 3 basinettes and 4 pack-and-plays, all of which were given to us, and I am going to keep the ones I like best and sell the rest! The people who gave them to us said to pass them along if I don't need them...

i've been doing great at yard sales so far this summer. i got a moses basket for only $1! it was at a huge church yard sale- maybe they didn't know how much they usually are? it isn't new and needs a new pillow for the inside, but i am excited to have a project to work on.
at the same sale i also got some nice warm little one-peice outfits from gap and warm socks for the baby and lots of cute clothes for my 2 yr.

and- i got the hypno-birth book/cd/loose leaf paper stuff for only $3 at a yard sale! i was really wondering how we could afford the materials.

and lastly, we got an old wooden school desk for my dd on the street. she loves it- with the little book shelf underneath.

and so much summer to go!

I lurrrrrve yard sales and thrift shops! I am disappointed that the thrift stores in my city are SO expensive though! Yuck!! I was told where to travel for better deals though, so hoping to get there someday.

Oh oh oh! I just went to the great and spacious fabric store a few miles away.... remnants!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! I got a yard and a half of this ultra-funky-cool very heavy green paisley print, a zipper, some green, some waterproof stuff and thread anf this other divine orange fabric that I'll use for ultra contrasting on a diaper bag! Total : $12

It's probably around 7 yards of fabric total, reciept said it would have cost me close to $100 new!!!

I got an exersaucer at a yard sale for $8!
There is a huge thrift store near me (like the size of a grocery store) and I've gotten lots of great baby clothes there. Many of the clothes are still new with tags and my favorite so far is a Gymboree onesie that I got for $2.50!
My wife and my MIL went to a store called Hartstrings in PA and bought an insane amount of baby clothes. They were so proud of the receipt: it said they spent $120 and saved $240. Cool! And the stuff is really nice, much nicer than we could afford ourselves.
