Exactly my situation. It always seems like a GREAT idea...to do very, very soon...just never quite today.

Alright so we've got a support team of two. Let's do it this month, mama, even if we only post one item! That would be a very big deal to me. It's a matter of getting over the hump. Then we can fly out to Hawaii in a couple months on our subsequent earnings! Or maybe not.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to post a New E-Bay-ers support thread seeking the support of experienced mamas? If so would you think this forum or frugality or...? I'm fairly new to MDC so I don't know all of the mini-communities.

I have a few things I'd like to get rid of on Ebay. I just have to find my camera. My daughter hid it somewhere.

If you make a thread, I'll definitely post.

Hi all! I'd like to set my goals for July to be to clear both bedrooms and switch them (move our bedroom to ds' room and vice versa). sounds simple enough but those bedrooms might just bury me

Ok I am joining in this month. I just started de-cluttering so my goal is small, I want to
--de-clutter 10 boxes of stuff
--set up guest/sewing room
--organize shed

I really hope I can do this and continue on.

I'll join in. Maybe having my goals posted here will help me work towards them.

1. Organize the cups and plates cabinet in the kitchen (including donating a bunch we don't ever use)

2. Clean out guest room, since my mom is coming to visit in about a month and the room is currently being used as our "storage shed"

3. Go through kids clothes and donate/give away non-used or too-small items.

4. Take my bag of too-small clothing to a resale shop, then the rest to donate.

5. List a few things on ebay that I think would sell well there.

May I join in? We are constantly decluttering around our house, but stuff always 'sneaks' in whenever we go visit people...and relatives always seem to have to give DD something to take home, which ends up in the salvation army box !!

So far this month we have decluttered 1 huge box, and 5 bags to salvation army. You all would be proud. Our storage room is so empty now! The only things that on our the shelves are our camping gear, and pictures!

We don't have problems with toys as we pared it down, but I have problems with books that my mother keeps giving me (education type of books)...so mainly my goal is to look through them and out the ones I'll never use! That's my goal to get rid of the books I'm not reading and perhaps to get another 30 things into the salvation army bag.

(A friend of ours lives in a campground in a 30 foot camper. We were there last night and all their belongs are there... there is no way the 3 of our things would fit nicely into a few shelves hehe)

: Well, I don't have anything worth quite that much, but we can dream!

That would be a good idea. Wanna take care of that? I'm thinking maybe Frugality...even though I'm not new here, sometimes I can't figure out where to put things either...

It works for me!

I've decluttered roughly 500 things a month for 3 or 4 months now. It has made a noticeable difference, but there's still SO MUCH here! This month & next are going to be pretty busy for us, so I think maybe I'll make some project goals instead of numbers. For July, I'd like to:

1) Finally list the FB and other dipes that are waiting to be sold
2) Finish going through the file cabinets
and, if I still have more time (this may have to wait until August)
3) Tackle the laundry room (which also is our spare food pantry)

I'm in this month for 750 items.

I cleaned my dd's closet today and got rid of 75 items and dh cleared out 100 items out of the basement.

175/750 so far

Last month I didn't participate in the challenge.

You people intimidate me, (and inspire me )

Anyway, forget last month. Last month is over. Let's not dwell on last month :

My goal this month is to get my total to date up to 1,000 items by July 25th. Yeah, you people who do 500 or 1,000 in a month amaze me. I'm just trying to get to 1,000 for a year

This weekend I got 68 items out! (yay me ).

So I have 2 weeks and 3 days to get 123 more items out the door. I'm already kicking myself for all the times I didn't feel like itemizing and just counted "one bag of stuff"

The accordian file I had my papers in was large and unwieldly. So, I got a new one at Target - plastic, instead of paper, with a non-accordian square front section. I went through the old one and shredded tons. Found the paperwork for my dental plan at work. I'm having some work done today and didn't know what my deductible/co-pay was.

I emptied my shredder three times! :-)

I had also gotten 2 Rubbermaid medium sized totes. I one I put my winter boots, long wool coat, gloves, etc. In the other, I put some other winter clothes, and a few very favorite pieces (a dress custom-made for me and a few skirts) that I don't fit into right now.

Also got rid of my $10 thrift store winter coat from last winter I didn't really like, as well as a few t-shirts that were ratty or the color bled when washed.

Feels good!

I also got to do some decluttering in my church's kitchen today. We were moving everything out of the basement area for a total gutting and remodeling (the building is from the 1920s and still had the original cast iron monstrosity of a stove in the kitchen!). While packing things up, I ditched utensils, pots, etc., that were too old to be of use, broken, etc.

That actually sounds really cool!

I sent 11 things out the door to Freecycle this morning. That makes my total 11/100 for this month.

Can you count it as van loads? I'm clearing out the garage on Wednseday and just backing up the van to the garage door and loading stuff in. If I can count it as van loads instead of every bag or individual item I'll count myself in and say 4 van loads!(Yes there's that much stuff in there and we only use half the garage!) My goal is to make the garage a place where I can let the kids play in there if its raining or whatever! It was originally going to be a work space for me but I like to work in the living room instead. Erin!

150 for this month and I can change it later.

I went for 250 last month and since dh helped I don't know if I made it or not since he started counting things by drum liner trash bags (I think 55 gallon size and there weren't that many of those).

We Freecycled an old printer that was taking up soooooo much space. It was the only one that we had, so we were using it, but it was GIGANTIC. I think it was like at least ten years old, and was a scanner/copier/printer, so it was huge. I'm so glad it's gone!

That takes me to a whopping 1/500. I'll be doing more in the next few days, so I'm not too worried. Yesterday, my SIL, MIL, and I all decided to have a garage sale together on the 21st, so hopefully I'll get rid of a lot of things there! I have a ton of baby clothes still that the second-hand store didn't take, and I certainly don't need them for this baby on it's way or any other babies either; I just had waaaaay too much (that's what happens when you have the first grandchild and great-grandchild on each side ).

Alright, I'm in. I'll go for getting 250 items out of my apartment!
I don't *think* I've ever joined one of these challenges before, and if I did, I definitely didn't complete it...:
But I will this month!

Ok I'm in I'm going for 4 van loads! I'm still decluttering the house but everything is going into the garage which is frustrating for me because I want it to go away! Now that dds birthday is over and done with I'm going to clean it out! I'll post pictures when I'm done! Erin!
