Title says it all.

uhhhh are you supposed to wash them? I kind of figured they are clean from being in the bath with the soap and the water. I rinse them off every so often as I take them out but that's about it.

I know, it sounds silly but I guess the clean freak in me says they need a good washing in the dishwasher or by hand. :P

That's what I was going to say. I make sure that I squeeze the water out of the ones that retain water, but I can't say I've ever taken them out and scrubbed them in the sink. We keep them in a net, so they don't usually get moldy. The few that have I have just gotten rid of.

Another NEVER here...I squeeze the water out too, and we've never had a mold problem. We have some in there that were my older DS' when he was littler even and they're fine.

We don't wash ours.

We don't wash ours either, but I do wash the cup that I use to pour water over DS's hair to get the shampoo out. I'm not sure why I think it needs washing but the toys don't!

i don't wash them, but then again, I just had to throw the whole lot out due to skeezy mold.

I've never had a mold problem and some of ours are ten years old and more since I got them secondhand. Now I feel like a slacker mom cause in all these years I have never thought once of washing them.

I'm a very clean and neat person. I even clean the shower almost every time I shower. BUT, I have never cleaned a bath toy.

We don't use bath toys. I had some for about 6 months and no matter how much I tried to make sure they were dry they still got moldy inside. Cups, funnels, and spoons all make it back to the dishwasher immediately after bath.

Ok, I haven't read any of the replies yet but.....Is this a joke.

It never even crossed my mind to was the bath toys. Of course pretty much any toy in our house becomes a bath toy at some point in it time at our house. Now I'm going to go back and read the replies and depending on what everyone else say I may be washing some toys.

i throw them in a lingerie bag in the washing machine once every few months or so. they get a bit mildew-y after a while & a run through the machine with oxyclean (in with the rest of the white wash) makes them good as new

once a week or so... : along with the rest of his toys and stuffed animals...

I don't wash them either.... but it seems to me that most of the cheaper ones need to be thrown out every so often anyway, no matter how clean or squeezed out they get

Now you've got me thinking that maybe I should wash the nicer ones! I'm not really a clean freak though in general... I don't clean most of the other toys either if it's only dd that's been playing with them, unless they get really dirty or dusty. I don't do any sort of "routine" toy cleanings.

Same here. I don't wash his other toys either. The few times I have is when they've been peed on or thrown up on.

He uses his Playmobil toys in the tub, I do give those a rinse in clean water and set them to dry.

My kid has been pooping in the tub lately, so YES they get washed!!!

The one time it was really nasty I let them soak in bleach/water in the bathtub and then rinsed them really well. The only ones I didn't let do that were the ones with holes in them, they got washed by hand.

See, I figure my DD must pee in the water (and not tell me). That along with, they don't get scrubbed and I've seen the build up in the crevices! YUCK!

God, I feel so much better now! I opened this thread thinking I was going to read all about how all the good moms wash bath toys once a week or something and I would be the only one ducking while saying that it never occurred to me to do any more than squirt the water out and rinse them off. Phew!
