Anyone have a child that loses interest in reading/books all together? My dd is 7 and reads very well. She was one of the top readers in her class last year and we always do the reading club at the local library just to keep her from losing too much over the summer. Now she says she is tired of books. But once she opens the book, she gets excited and will read it the whole way thru. I was reading a book to her one night and she begged me to finish the chapter (it was a cliffhanger). I think I'm going to have to get more like that - to keep her interested. Anyone have any other ideas about reading w/your child. She usually picks out books by herself, but we are having a hard time finding books that she's really interested in.
