Finding a new MW for HB #2

We are probably going to move across the country before my next birth (not currently PG or even trying). My MW and I have gotten very close. We clicked instantly, and even now, 16 months later, we keep in good contact and have even gotten together on a personal basis. I relied on her heavily, emotionally. My DH got very sick during my pg, and I needed a lot of extra support. Also, the pg was unplanned and I really believe that her care is what made me the mommy I am, and help me avoid PPD. I couldn't wait to have another baby, because now we are so much closer, and it would be like a friend being my mw.

I'm terrified I could never find another MW to even compare. I also like the fact that she is a CNM home birth MW...I like her balance of the the medical model with the midwifery model, which I also know could be hard to find. Its even crossed my mind that I would just hospital birth, instead...YIKES! But that relationship with my MW is so so so important to me.

Any thoughts or ideas? Would I just have to interview really thoroughly? I'm so afraid of being disappointed, and how those dynamics would play into the actual birth.

I considered getting pg now just so I could have my baby with her. But it would really be a bad time for us- we are moving with the intention of DH becoming self-employed and we will be very unstable financially for a while.

I'm just so sad to think about leaving my mw.

I feel the same closeness to my midwife. I don't really have any advice other than to let you know you are not alone in your angst.
