amnio fluid differs from reg discharge?

I know this is a silly question, but is amniotic fluid more watery? Is it sticky? Does it smell like anything?
I've had an increase in thickness most days with discharge, but sometimes it's pretty nothing/watery so I'm trying to figure out if my water breaks and it's only a drip or something, how to tell the difference. Will there be small gushes after like going from sit to stand etc?

As far as I know, the small gushes when moving from standing to sitting are really the best way to tell. I'm having a hard time deciding what the heck various leaking liquids are, too!

I am leaking amnio fluid, there are PH test trips your care provider can do a check with. For me it was much more increased and watery, I felt the gushes clearly from my vaginia (vs. thinking I peed myself!) and they increase in various postions, depending on if the baby is plugging the hole or not!

Same rules apply: keep hydrated and keep clean down there!

I had small gushes when my water broke. They'd also keep happening after I emptied my bladder. Mine broke in the morning. By evening, the gushes were bigger & I could definitely tell that it was my water.

When my water broke last time I felt a small blurb of wetness...when I went to check there was watery discharge that had definitively pink hue to it. I called my then MW and she told me it was my mp. I told her I thought it was too watery. It happened around 10:30 at night so shortly after I went to bed. When I woke up to pee during the night it was clear to me that my water must have broken because the little mini pad and my underwear were totally soaked. The next morning though, I was able to walk around with a pad, it was still kind of a trickle. I called them and came in and they had me do that test that was mentioned in another post and they said for sure it was my water that broke. They couldn't tell without doing the test though.

I've heard that it can be clear or even browish/greenish/bluish if there's mec. It did feel a bit wetter to me than I had felt. I think more came out lying down than standing up.

At the end of my pg with dd, I had a very thin discharge, that soaked though my underwear for a couple of days. Thought for sure that I had a small leak. Nope, just cm- (went in and got checked). When my water actually did break, it was a gush, so I don't know what small leaks are like.

Mine was a little bit pinkish tinged and like previous posters have mentioned would leak out based on position.

Mine was clear and the same consistency as water.

Everyone's so different, I guess there's no real standard unless it's a nice gush or a test. I have an appt tomorrow and will see if I can get some of those strips. I just keep hoping for a nice big gush and lots of cx today/tonight so we don't even make it to the appt, and I won't have to keep wondering what's what regarding fluids.
