I've been marking things off my to do list in the other thread as I get them done and I LOVE that! Checking something off a list is one of my favorite things

-Repaired walls and painted playroom
-Thinned the toy collection
-Got a stretchy wrap (Moby)
-Kegels, RRL tea, all that stuff I should already be doing - Been making iced tea with RRL & mother-to-be teas! Yummy!
-Decided not to have a doula (will have close friend there who has had and attended homebirths)
-Stocked up on household needs- TP, paper towels, etc.
-Checked mama cloth stash to see if it will suffice for post-partum. (Will use pre-folds for first few days!)
-Added MW number to cell phones (Hey, it was on the list, it counts!)
-Signed up for childbirth refresher course

oh this is a much better idea than all the bazillion to-do lists i have in various notebooks and places around the house...hopefully this will make me feel better about my day.

so far, i've:

ordered some curtains for the babyroom
registered for gifts
bought shower gifts for friends
cleaned a little
toured one hospital
narrowed down to a few names
found the plug to the exercise ball and blown that up
started prenatal yoga
read a LOT
found the phone number for a bradley method teacher and am PLANNING to call soon
watched a lot of baby shows on tv...(can this count? please?)
started to THINK about my birth plan

i'm not sooooo bad off, i guess. of course making this list only reminds me of the other things that need doing. i wish i didn't need to go to work, as well. i wish planning for this baby could be my full time job right now, instead of just daydreams while i go about my regular day. i can't wait until she's born and it IS my job! i bet i'll get a lot more done!

I've also been checking things off of my to-do list in the "To Do Thread" so I've been keeping pretty good track of what I have left. It's nice to look and see stuff being accomplished:

Pulled out the NB clothes
Knit 3 NB/ small longies/ soakers
Start drinking my RRL
Sewed PP mama cloth stash
Install bucket seat/ determine if DS needs a new seat to fit 3 across DONE and they don't fit but at least we're just getting a convertible seat that the new babe will use after a few months
Pulled out HB supplies, replenished what's missing

that is the point

call Bradely class now -- classes are ten to 12 weeks long and you don't know when one will start

wow you guys! i'm impressed. i think because most of my to-do list is either a long-term project or, in the case of buying stuff, dependent on the shower (which won't be til later summer/early fall), i haven't gotten a whole DONE. we did start on the renovations in the sunroom, though. there's a lot of work that needs to be done, but so far andy has finished what needed to be demolished, framed and installed all the new windows (it's three walls that are ALL window, so that was huge), made the doorways bigger and installed the doors, and started on the sheetrock and insulation

i'm not looking forward to when he has sand off the old paint on one of the walls in there (the rest of it is getting covered, but that wall is staying as is) because we have a feeling it's lead paint (it's an ollllld extension to the house). andy's going to plastic over everything and has a sander with a vacuum attachment but i'm going to have to be out of the house allll day. wah. i'll have to find someplace well air-conditioned.

i also chose a cbe! and have been working on those article revisions -- i hope to have those back to the publisher by next monday, so it will be nice to cross that off my list. :

checking off on my list as I'm adding things...:

I am in the middle of decluttering my living room, if I can separate my arse from the computer chair and get to work soon, I'll be done before the boys wake up from their nap. SIGH...

that's it so far

So far I've purchased furniture and bedding for DD's new room. I had DH set up the furniture that is in our house but he has yet to pick up the furniture I bought. But DD's room is coming along and she'll likely be sleeping in it by the end of this week.

I've purchased some baby things that I needed and stocked up on TP and such. I'm still a ways off so I know I'll need to do that again.

My to-do list on my computer crashed when it decided to become an expensive paperweight last week. So I have to remember what I had on it. Mostly cleaning out closets and going through clothes.

things I have done:

gotten some baby things form my sis,
stroller, chg table/pad, crib mattress, cradle mattress, misc baby gear,
electric breast pump!! yay!! medela pump in style back pack!! woohoo,
baby monitor

gotten some baby things from neighbor, toys, blankets, bassinett,

bought at garage sale some GN layettes stuff

gotten a few #'s of chldcare people (OK OK so I have to CALL, I know)

made appt with MW's !! made appt for birth class at MW's place

Gotten some #'s of fill in docs (yeah yeah CALLLLLLLLL)

Started researching infant car seats (Graco snug ride,, maybe)

Drinking RRL tea

Liberally smearing any growing part with Palmers.. (hey, it counts)

finally got a mat bathing suit and took DS2 into big pool!!

I feel sooooo unprepared for this baby..
nothing at all. i'm not worried about it. all i need is my birth/postpartum supplies, some newborn clothes (waiting on sonogram to get hand me downs), a carseat, and some diapers. i'll probably do most of that in october.
Gosh, I haven't done anything usefull for this baby yet. Well, I did buy way too many newborn diapers. 18 AIO's, 20 fitteds, 4 prefitteds, 30 prefolds, 8 covers... There will be more I'm sure.

I think I'm still in denial about this baby.
WOW. You girls are really on the ball! I have thought about diong some stuff... does that count?

Actually I have:

~gotten all the baby stuff out of storage
~gone through the clothes to pick out anything a girl could wear (we had all boy stuff)
~watched the maya wrap video
~started reading some Dr Sears
~almost finished decorating the nursery

We have so much more to do- mainly household renovations because I don't want this baby living in construction!!!
My to do list isn't too bad since I already have so much of the stuff I need -

What I have already done is:

bought some new newborn dipes (I had sold a fair amount of my old stash!)
bought a new diaper bag
picked out a new rocking chair - DH is ordering it soon from costco
And I went through our storage and I know where the bassinet, stroller and carseat are - they need to be cleaned up but I'm in good shape for having stuff ready!
Well, today I completed most of my birth plan! Minus having my doula look at it, and finding out if some of the things I want are even possible.

And I have a doula, so that is also good.

I've registered for baby bedding and contemplated going through all the baby debris downstairs, but that's about all the farther I've gotten on that particular project. We have 90% of the clothing, etc. that we need... we just need to extract it and move a bunch of stuff from this room to that room, and that room to another room, etc.

No decorating done to speak of, although my sister and I have made some critical decorating decisions.
I bought all of our NB diaper stash (waiting to wash it all when I wash the clothes and car seat cover and boppy cover).

I sorted and sized all the baby clothes so I can open boxes as I need bigger sizes.

I've gotten a lot better about taking my prenatals and calc/mag vitamins.

I drink RRL tea every night.

Ugh. I feel like my "to do" list keeps getting longer and longer, and I can't do enough in each day to keep up!

We ordered new "big girl" furniture (twin bed, dresser, etc) for DD and I bought all the linens and junk for her. Ugh. That was a lot of $ to spend on a room that the kid only spends like half the night in! We're moving her "baby" furniture into the baby's room (which, again, the baby won't use for ages, but I still need somewhere to put all her STUFF), which DH is currently renovating. We had been using it as a guest room, so we moved all the other furniture out and DH is trying to get all the spackling and painting and such done in there before DD's furniture comes and we have to move all the baby furniture in there. Argh! I got the baby's bedding set too. Now I just have to do the 8 billion other things on my list...

Slowly by slowly cleaning the house and getting it ready to sell so we can get a bigger place - of course, this may take a while, so there's a possibility baby will come home to THIS house all nice and clean and de-cluttered!

Cleaned out the crib so it's not full of clean/unfolded clothes

thought about birth plan and jotted down notes

washed the sling that I have

I don't think I'll be doing any buying until much, much later.
