Experience W/ Vit B6?

My morning sickness has kicked in and it's been kind of hard getting motivated in the morning let alone taking care of 3 kids all day. I was reading on my midwives website about taking B6. Has anyone tried this and had it work? I bought some yesterday and am planning on starting it today. It also said that you can take B6 and Unisom as a combo and it's supposed to help even more. I've tried SeaBands and they don't seem to be making a difference at all. My kids are just watching tv practically all day so I can relax. I feel really bad about it because we usually go out and do stuff during the day. Help!!!

I've taken b6 for both ttc and during pregnancy. I think the reason I haven't had bad m/s every time has been because of it. I take a 100mg a day.

Don't take more than 100mg a day and remember you get some in your prenatal. You should take 25mg, 3 times a day. Half a Unisom with that will help, too.

Two friends who did this said it only helped for a little while.

Yes, B6 helps (helped me, anyway ). Try taking it without the Unisom first. You can take up to 100 mg/day while pregnant (too much can be a problem). I take 50 mg at night and 50 mg in the morning. I would not take 100 mg all at once.

You can also try the B6/Unisom combo, but I don't have any dosage info for that since I haven't needed to try it myself.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

I take B6 am/pm and 1/4 of a unisom every 6 hours or so. It has made a huge difference for me. After 2 weeks of basically being immobile, I can think and usually eat without trouble.

A commonly prescribed drug for morning sickness called diclectin is actually a combination of VitaminB6 and an antihistamine. I imagine B6 could possibly work then!! I am not feeling so bad yet but am expecting the m/s to start around 6 or 7 weeks like last time so I am definetly going to give it a shot!

So is the 100 mg a day is in conjunction with the prenatal or in addition to? I am so nauseous and need help! I was sick until about the sixth month with DD and I hope that's not the case this time around!

Personally, I feel comfortable with B6 plus the B6 in the prenatal. My prenatals each contain 2 mg of B6 (I take a prenatal twice a day). So in the a.m. I get 52 mg of B6 and in the p.m. I get 52 mg of B6. Personally, 104 mg of B6/day (as opposed to 100 mg of B6/day) does not worry me. 150 mg/day? 200 mg/day? I wouldn't do that. but the extra 2 mg/12 hours is not significant enough to concern me.

I keep any eye out for any problems that could be related to the B6, also. Watch for tingling in your extremities and if you have any, reduce your dosage.

I started taking it yesterday afternoon. Does it take a few days to start working? It's done nothing for me as of yet. If it doesn't help in the next few days then I'm going to try Unisom too. Somethings gotta help! My house is a mess, my kids feel neglected and I can barely do anything! I don't think I felt this bad before.

B complex?

I've been thinking I'd try some B complex -- getting the B6 in with the appropriate balance of all the other Bs as well. Anyone tried this or know anything about whether it would help?
