Please help...I am obsessing

There are so many great slings and carriers to choose from and I need help! It is making me crazy trying to pick out a sling. : I am going to go for a ring sling and I am a slender build. I need to order one now, so I can use it with my 13 month old son as I am needing some extra support while holding him. I had a pouch sling last time and it shrunk in the dryer. DH was trying to be helpful. I thought I would try a ring sling this time and would really appreciate any input. I live at the coast in southern california, so I wont need a fleece or heavy material. Can you please give me your top two picks. I need help! Thanks.

Sleepingbaby.net is my FAVORITE ring sling! It's comfy, does not require a lot of adjusting at the shoulder, you just put it on, tighten, and go. I also love the newer version of the Maya Wrap with the padded shoulder, but for a small frame it might be overwhelming. If you have really narrow shoulders, make a note of that when you place your order with Jan, she may be able to make the shoulder a little more narrow for you.

There is a whole subforum at thebabywearer.com about Choosing and Using a Ring Sling. I have the same username (and a LOT more posts) over there, so if you want to venture over there and you have any trouble finding anything, PM me! Also, look into whether there is a NINO group in your area where you can see things in person and try them out!

I am up here in Napa, CA, so lightweight was my interest too. I ordered from Jan at the link Leah gave you for sleepingbaby.net. She will also customize whatever you need I think.

I chose the Tencel fabric (even though it's man made, it's a natural fiber made from wood pulp cellulose) which on the site does not seem pretty but when I got it, I was floored! I got the eggplant color and hubby said it looks a bit like velvet when I walked in with it on. It just seems like it's more expensive than it is.. I think I paid $42 or $47.

It's gorgeous! It feels comfortable... just soft enough and just right. Seems lightweight, but make sure you read about her in stock fabrics to be sure since I have a cooler winter and that may have played a part in my decision, I cannot remember! But it seems lightweight. It's well sewn, and she gives good directions for ordering the perfect size.

The lightly padded Maya Wrapos are really nice. No shoulder cap flap but where it sits on your shoulder is nice and wide so it's not too much pressure right on your shoulder. Good luck with your decision!
