sharp back pain

I know when baby starts sitting low it can cause some dull lower back pain, but what about sharp pain? Can the baby hit a nerve at all? Last week I thought maybe I pulled a muscle right above my hip on my back since my ligaments/hips seemed to loosen up, but it's still there and sometimes it really hurts. Then today I went to the grocers and my whole lower back just erupted in pain and I got very nauseous, thought I was going to throw up. Now it's just a lingering pain except for that hip pain. I'm going to mention it to my mw again and wish I could get to a chiropractor or get a massage. I'm just thinking the baby is irritating it somehow?

Absolutely possible...

I was laying on my side in the bed the other day and dh sorta playing with me put pressure on my top hip (like squeezing them together) and OMG the flame I felt radiating throughout my entire pelvis... there are these sharp little bones around the pelvic area that baby has to manuever through (not sure what they're called!) but when that baby head gets deep down in the pelvis, those little bones can DEFINATELY do a number on your internal organs!! I'm assuming it was rubbing (poking?) my uterus but it definately could've been a squished nerve as well...

I hope you're able to alleviate some of the pain... maybe try a hands & knees position for a little while tonight... and some pelvic rocks, figure eights w/ your hips too...all those things help baby to get in a good birthing position, but it also allows your pelvis to 'mold' around the baby too... helps me feel like I'm working the kinks out!!!

At the very least, maybe this blast of pain means baby is nearer? :

I was having this last week and went to see my witch-doctor chiropractor-
he did some leg muscle releases on the opposite side and totally fixed the problem. As much hands and knees as you can muster in the meantime will help... My lower back is dully aching now- I think the time for this baby to come is soon!

Leaning over something while on my knees is about the only comfort I can get. I'm wondering too if the baby moved into a back labor position? So I'm going to try some lunges and see if that helps. It's good to know I'm not the only one, but I hope you get some relief too.
