what to do for aches and pains?

Between standing at work and sleeping differently, I am pretty sore in the back and hips. I used to swear by SalonPas for all my aches and pains, but there is no info on if it is safe for pregnant women. It is basically a camphor patch that you put on the achey area and it kinda burns... like ben gay. Does anyone know of an alternative? We have some Well Patch too but I have never used that. There is no info on the label about use during pregnancy.

And arnica has not helped at all this time

Thanks!

I have been so sore lately. I need to cut down on my work and taking care of my kids and dogs.

I'd love recommedations on what works too.

Have you tried yoga? That seems to stretch me out enough to relieve most of the pains.

Check your shoes, too. Make sure they're not too worn out and replace them if they are, especially if you're on your feet all day. The pain will just travel on up your legs if your feet aren't happy.

If all else fails, a soak in the tub is always nice.

I second the yoga idea -- I have been doing yoga 3-4 times a week and have had MUCH fewer aches and pains than during my last pregnancy.

Good shoes and/or insoles are also a great idea. It's amazing how many problems can start with your feet. Some OTC insoles might make a big improvement.

Hope this helps!

SalonPas, are those the ones that smell really herbal? Could you call an Accupuncturist or someone who uses them on patients and ask? I don't know, maybe that sounds silly!

I had SUCH a busy weekend and I was really so exhausted and sore and had NO clue what to do for an all over body ache or even a specific site. I feel your pain!

I second the warm bath and the yoga. Both have helped me a lot with the aches and pains, which seem to be coming on so much sooner with this babe than before! Also, if you don't already have a body pillow, I highly recommend one. It has really helped me sleep better, and has alleviated a lot of shoulder/hip/knee pain.
