Does anyone know if one of these is better than the other one? I'm wanting to do some sort of hypnosis for this pg and birth. I'm already really anxious about the birth and needing to figure out how to be more peaceful. I had a really horrible transfer experience with my dd's birth and I'm very nervous about repeating it.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

If you do a search, you'll find a lot of threads on this subject. I know, because I was wondering the same thing earlier this week

hypnobabies enables you to move around while under hypnosis. I had a pain free birth with hypnobabies.

I personally think hypnobabies is better. I did the home study and felt that it fully prepared me. I read the hypnobirthing book, but you really need a class to do it right. I liked the scripts for hypnobabies better, plus I heard several personal stories of people who used hypnobirthing, then hypnobabies and preferred hypnobabies the second time around.
Hypnobabies has several CDs with all the scripts you need. I simply listened to mine when I went to bed each night. They taught me how to fully relax my body. I had a very quick labor as a result. Also, hypnobabies teaches you that contractions (aka pressure waves) will only feel like pressure. This ended up being completely true. Transition was the only part of labor that I felt any discomfort and it wasn't painful, rather very intense pressure.
I totally lost my relaxation/focus/hypnosis during pushing and it sucked (not the fault of hypnobabies, but the chaos caused by the hospital staff and me for not resolving my pushing fears beforehand).
ETA: There is a "Fear Release" script that is specifically for helping you resolve fears that you know you have. My problem with pushing is that I didn't realize I was afraid until I was already there!
