Here's a new one for the Sleuths!

Okay, there is this collection of books from when I was younger (so 15-20 years ago). It involved REAL famous people (like Alexander Graham Bell, for instance) and how they went on to become famous. But they all had this imaginary friend that came into the picture and taught them some valuable lesson. They were children's books, and they HAD pictures, but I don't think they would be considered a picture book, as they didn't have pictures on every page, that I remember.

Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? Thanks! :

i have a glimmer of memory. Edison 'taught' persistence. they were mainly white covers, hardbacks and about a 1/4" thick, colored illustrations with lots of words.

hmmm. that's as much as I can 'see' in my head.
good luck on your search.

It's been found! I asked the reference librarian at the library I work at and she knew EXACTLY what I was talking about before I even finished explaining!

They are called Value Tales. They are re-issuing the books at a better quality.

ETA: Let it just be known....I just did my FIRST DIRECT LINK!!!!

Ooh, I remember those

I used to have a bunch. I liked the Helen Keller one the most as a kid.
