Hi there mamas! I am in SW IA/SE NE (Omaha metro area). DH and I are 15 weeks along in this pregnancy and while we tried just 'dealing' with the idea of a hospital birth, we're still very much wanting our homebirth. DH is not 100% comfortable with a UC. Based on what I've found out in some looking around and talking to people, I would prefer a DEM to a CNM if possible. I just feel that I can get more of what I want (basically very hands-off) with a DEM. Due to the legality of DEMs in both NE and IA (and homebirth in general in NE), finding DEMs has been pretty impossible. I am currently exhausting every resource I can find to try and find someone to attend our birth. If you know of anyone who will attend births in this area, PLEASE PM me and let me know! Thanks!
