What #4 Owes Us

I've started reading this book, Callie's Tally, which is an extremely mainstream novel in which the author keeps track of everything her daughter owes her for the prenatal period and the first year. I thought it would be interesting if some of us got our own threads going, since we haven't started the first year yet.

With this being baby #4, I haven't bought much yet, but here's mine so far:

I love that book! I read it when I was pregnant with my first. I might try to pick that up again at the library next week. Who's the author?

I couldn't even begin to tell you how much we've spent on this child so far. Our perinatology visits and diagnostic tests alone have cost us around $2,000. We've also bought *way* too many clothes for him, a fancy bassinet that converts to a sidecar, an expensive carseat, and a really cool but unnecessary baby-to-toddler bathtub-shower combo that my DH just HAD to have. Not to mention bath products, diapers, nursing supplies, etc.

If I had to guess, I'd say we've spent $3,000, but that's including the medical bills.

I wish. Really, I'd just like to see a more natural spinoff of that book, because it's painfully mainstream.

Which is why I want to convince other people here to do it too. Heck, maybe one of you will write a better version of the book.
