Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Audrey and I'm a 22 yo college student. I recently got the surprise of my life...I'm expecting a little one next March! It boggles my mind that I am pregnant as I was on an extended birth control pill (no period for four months) because of my horrible cramping. I had no idea I was pregnant, nor do I know HOW I got pregnant on the pill. One night, this thought popped into my head and I went and got a test - it was positive - so I bought out about the whole store, and got the unmistakeable "pregnant" read on the digital. So, here I am! My boyfriend broke up with me almost a month ago (great timing, huh?) And I will be telling him the news on Sunday. I am really excited but also scared. I am glad I found this place to help keep me sane along my journey!

Thank you. I don't think he will take the news very well. We dated for a year and a half and then out of the blue about a month ago he told me he thought we were too serious, were limiting ourselves, we should "be young," we have the rest of our lives to settle down (he's 25, I'm 22, and I agree we are young but I was in love), we should date other people....I completely broke down and did all the things you're NOT supposed to do, such as calling him on the phone, begging for him to come back, crying hysterically, etc. - so it went from "let's see other people" to "let's break up because you are psycho." Then I found out I was pregnant. I haven't spoken to him at all in about 3 weeks. Out of the blue the other day, HE called ME asking if I wanted to go get a drink. HUh? : I said no. He suggested dinner, I initiallly agreed, then decided that wouldn't work. It seemed like he was trying to - not necessarily get back together - but at least see me and maybe get some action (I know how guys think). I did not want to tell him this news at a restaurant. So I suggested he come over to talk on Sunday. My roommates will be here (in their rooms) in case I need them. I don't know how he'll take it as I think he might be trying to be slimy and just think he's going to have a hook up relationship with me. Clearly that is not what he's going to hear on Sunday. So....I imagine I'll get the whole abortion speech and then some....I'm preparing myself for it.

Oh. Oh, wow. All I can say is that I'm impressed (proud? can you be proud of someone you don't know?) that you're working so hard at being level headed at this point, instead of jumping and grasping at straws. Lots of semi-helpful internet support from us however you need it.

I agree. I'm proud of you for facing up to the reality that you are living, and for being so excited about that baby inside of you. It will be all worth it MAMA. : And 22 isn't so young! I got pg with dd at 22, and had started trying a few days after I turned 22!
