Have any of you done either of these patterns before?

Favorite Things Carpet Bag

I really wish I could see them in person before I started to help me decide which to do. I am sewing myself a prenatal bag (I'm an apprentice midwife) and need something on the bigger side, but still want something that looks cute. :

Which do YOU like better? :

Either one is very cute. My preference would be the bag that had the biggest opening so that I could just open it up and grab whatever I needed without a bunch of rumaging.
I just hate a purse that won't open up!

Lennon, Defenestrator has a great system for putting stuff in her big bag and not losing it all or having to rummage. She has one large bag and then has patterned drawstring bags within that that hold stuff like her stethescope and cuff, her fetoscope, one for her homeopathy, one for herbs, etc. She has prenatal bags and birth bags, and every bag has a different pattern and is a little different shape/size, so it's easy to grab without too much thought and come up with the proper equipment...kind of like having a little make up bag and a change purse inside a hand bag, you know? They're all fun colors and patterns too, which is nifty. You could do that with coordinating patterns and know where everything is without it getting all mixed up. And drawstring bags are pretty easy to make!
