nervous- midwives at another birth

I got a call from my midwife today saying her backup may be doing our prenatal bc she has another client who may be in labor. now i'm really nervous that i'll go into labor bc I don't know if i'm going to end up with her backup who i'll only be meeting for the first time today. trying not to stress too much

I kinda believe what happens is what is supposed to happen, ykwim? I have also known people that ended up with a backup who were happier with the backup than the original midwife! So you never know!

Try not to stress to much!! Is there something that can be done about it? If not, try not to stress.

And maybe that client will have her baby and your midwife will be free to come to you.

I am sure you are worried enough to keep labor at bay anyway! The mind can be very powerful over labor!

Yeah, don't be nervous. Your midwife is there for support, but I'm sure you can do it! All midwife-type-people are really very sweet and supportive.

I did have the same feeling when I found out one woman was due a week before me and another a week after (about 3wks ago!), but I've really liked everyone at the birthing center and have confidence in them all....

well I got to meet the backup today. I definately don't like her as much as my regular midwives but i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that i have established a relationship over the last 9 months with the other midwives. now hopefully they'll have enough of a rest between this birth and mine (whenever this baby finally decides to come!!!) anyways...thanks for the support. at this point it's not like labor seems to be starting (all of that stuff monday went away and hasn't come back) so we'll see what happens
