I figure we will just look stupid and be like "what?".
Well, it comes out, they inspect it and take it away. It doesn't just sit anywhere with no one looking.

It probably just depends on what everyone in the room is doing. I suppose it will be a wait and see.

I would seriously consider getting a court order. It is a part of your body, and completely crap that they won't give it to you in the first place.

I plan on doing it. I ordered an ecapsulator and 1000 empty capsules for about 30 dollars online. From everything I have read or heard, it is a good thing for me to do

Where online did you get our encapsulator? I have already ordered my capsules but looking for a faster way than doing it by hand.

Hospital told to return placenta to mom

Check out this link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070719/...czpNF29uYR.3QA

The hospital had refused to give the uterine lining to Swanson following the April 12 Caesarean birth of her daughter, with officials calling it contaminated biohazardous waste. The judge ordered the hospital not to destroy the placenta, which was frozen, and ordered that it be turned over to Swanson within two weeks.

most hospital workers are just misinformed/uninformed.
The first time I asked about it with DD, they had no idea, which was a surprise to me. The lady told me to call her the next day, which I did. She said we could take it, but someone would have to take it out of the hospital the day the baby was born. My MIL took it home and stuck it in her freezer. We buried the placenta about 5 weeks later under a corkscrew willow tree sapling.
If your OB is there, have her show you and a "Friend" the placenta, ooh ahh, the nurses and everyone else will be checking out the baby. Just have a couple of large ziplocks or shopping bags on hand and another tote bag. Wrap it up and send your friend on her way! Seeing the placenta is cool as heck btw!

Hello ladies!

Since my babes were already born, I have my placenta all encapsulated and done with. However, I have quite a few capsules left (didn't need quite as many as I thought) and the encapsulator if anyone would like to buy it from me. I'll definitely give you a deal. PM me if you're interested.

I got mine for $13 at Mountain Rose Herbs. For those of you who are dehydrating in the oven, what do you put it on?? Aluminum foil? Wax paper? Cookie sheet? Does it even matter, I wonder?
