Extra Fluids? Swelling.. Is it my sunburn

No, I don't believe it's pre-e. I am wondering where it suddenly came from though. Mostly in my feet and hands (who knows where else) after this weekend's trip, the scale says I'd packed on 6 pounds. We didn't over-eat at all. Since then I have already lost two, but as of last night and this morning, I still have swelling, so I know there's more to lose.

Do you think it's connected to my horrible sunburn? Do you think my body has just kept some extra fluids to fight the sun damage?

it *could* be the burn but get BP checked and prob urine for protein just to be safe.. even if you run to a drug store where they have those self serve chair cufs, it's better than nothing... but I would go in for both pee and Bp..... sorry.... are your reflexxs really "jumpy" like at the knee??

I feel comfy in saying this isn't toxemia. I've had it twice in late pregnancy, plus PIH with the last son. It's just not the same. No spots in front of my eyes, no reflex probs, no face swelling (that I can tell), no belly pain, and I feel pretty good overall. Plus I've lost two pounds of it already.

It could be the sunburn or a reaction to me getting dehydrated on Sunday I think. Perhaps a reaction from swiming in the chlorinated pool at the hotel too? I don't know. But pretty sure I don't need a BP and protein check.

If I start feeling worse or continue gaining, I'll get it checked

Doesn't sunburn dehydrate you? That might be playing a role.

I had A LOT of swelling last pregnancy, and the things that seemed to trigger it were salty food, standing a lot, hot weather, and reduced activity. If you experienced any of those on your trip, that might do it.

Drink lots of fluids... hopefully it will go down in the next day or two.

It sure seemed to dehydrate! My skin is dry and flaky, my lips withered, I FEEL thirsty and it took all of Monday and part of Tuesday to begin urinating normally again. I know I was definitely dehydrated.

Drinking...drinking...

Yeah, I've been known to run a fever from having gotten a sunburn and gotten dehydrated. :

When last I had fat feet, I found that the Smart Water (water with added electrolytes) seemed even more helpful than regular water... maybe psychosomatic, since I remember being OBSESSED for months with getting the swelling in my feet to go down.

Last month we went on vacation and my husband got a HORRIBLE burn. My son told someone, "Daddy got sunskin."

(((Hugs)))

I swell up simply from not getting enough rest with my feet up. I also get deydrated very fast and easy it seems. I know the best thing to do a few oz every 30 minutes.
