since almonds are a good source of protein - does that mean if I eat chocolate covered almonds I am getting a good serving of protein? :

Most definitely!

Plus, my midwife said yesterday that mums who eat chocolate have calmer babies.

In fact, I'd say it's CRUCIAL that you eat the chocolate almonds! Do it! Quickly!

Absolutely!
I count it as one.
And if dd wants chocolate, I give her those since she will at least also get the almonds (just no chocolate near bedtime, we both have a sensitivity to caffeine).

I definitely think it's the best of both worlds, Christine!

Don't forget to count the calcium from the chocolate too! You know we pregnant ladies need LOADS of calcium!

...and the magnesium. Really, I think you're obligated to birth a baby that's calm and full of calcium and magnesium.

I agree, it counts!
