Transverse lie

So I had my appointment with my MW and she believes the baby is transverse. I am 33 week and she told me not to stress, BUT I need an ultrasound to confirm the transverse lie. My MW is going out of town till the end of the month and does not want me doing anything to the baby until she knows for sure the baby is transverse. I am freaking out. I read the info on the spinning babies website and saw that transverse lie is the hardest to get the baby to turn head down. I don't want to be risked out of a HB because of the transverse lie. Any info would be really helpful. I am seeing the Chiro tomarrow to have the Webster Techinique done and will make an appointment for accupunture on Monday. Any other ideas?

Yep- time and visualisation. First, remember that your babe is transverse because that is the most comfortable position for him to be in- nothing hurting his bottom or his tiny fragile head, he's free, unrestricted, uncompacted. It makes total sense, from his point of view. BUT you need to concentrate on helping your little free spirit understand that this time is right now to come and put his head down and settle in, ready for birth. Draw pictures, meditate on eggs in egg cartons, do whatever it takes for you to feel that you're communicating with your little one.
The homoeopathic remedy pulsatilla can also be handy in situations like this.

Take deep breaths and calm down, first of all. Seriously...it's very easy to stress about this but try to stay relaxed, for the sake of your sanity!

Secondly: My daughter was transverse breech at 33wks as well. I was definitely worried, especially because my OB - who was usually very NCB-minded - said I'd need a c-section if the baby didn't turn. I freaked out a little bit but just started getting on my hands and knees every single night. I spent a lot of time laying in bed with my butt up in the air. It wasn't long before the baby turned. At 33wks, Baby still has plenty of room to move around.

I'm about 38wks right now and my baby was going from breech to vertex every couple days, up until a few days ago, and a 38wk baby is considerably bigger than a 33wk baby. Keep thinking positive thoughts. The OP is right, visualization and meditation (and prayer if you wish) are very helpful, and inversions/positioning can help a lot too.

Thanks, I emailed my midwife to get the dosage.

Thanks, I know I have time but I am bummed. I told my MW I feel like having a HB was like passing a test. If you don't get 100% on the test questions you fail and end up in the hospital.

I am in the exact same position as you are right now (and so is my baby in your baby's ). I just got back from the chiro and have started Webster adjustments. I'm going back again tomorrow. One thing she recommended was to avoid sitting as much as possible.
I'm hoping this will help. Otherwise, yeah, "relax". I'm doubly concerned because I can't have a homebirth (well, not an assisted one) even if my baby is frank breech! It's just now allowed here--midwives transfer care at 38 weeks if the baby is not vertex. Good luck with the chiropractor.

Here's a thread where I spoke extensively on Pulsatilla's action regarding women and breach babies.

Ladies, Wait!

Wait, wait and wait. I know this sounds so hard but my baby was also transverse and would "try" the head down for a week and go back. This is my 3rd baby and I am a small frame person. My baby tried out the head down back to transverse from 28wks to 34wks. I started rubbing my belly from right to left every night once relaxed and talked to the baby as well as pictured him/her head down. About a week later head down and has stayed and now I am three 1/2 wks until due date withe NO U/S!!

Obviouly we have no idea why but I don't think its wrong that the baby is not head down I think 33wks is early. Maybe the baby still needs more fat to get bigger to fill the space of your uterus or maybe it has more room than needed if this is not your first baby. We are all shaped so different.

Take your time, talk and vision your baby head down. RELAX it will work!

I can so understand that frame of mind. This is going to be my first homebirth and I get a little frenzied when something doesn't go completely according to plan.
