Growth in vagina?

Hi! I'm hoping someone can give me some help....At my client's OB apppt today, the Dr. did a vag exam and said there was a growth of some kind inside her vagina that looked like "something vascular." She said he didn't give her much information and that he said they should "just watch it." It seems to me that I've read somewhere about something similar to a hemorrhoid in the vagina, but I can't remember what it's called and whether or not it's serious. Can anyone help me out with any info on this? Thanks in advance!

Could be a vaginal varicosity--which, as I understand it, can indeed be likened to a hemmorhoid. Look into varicose veins, and vulvar and/or vaginal varicosities. They do not have to be a problem for birth--depends on the varicosity, the mom and the provider. If it is a varicosity, there are herbal/vitamin supplements that can be used to help...circu and circulatone are 2 I've seen in use. Vit E generally....and lots of pelvic floor work (kegels) couldn't hurt either--regular exercise generally, as this will improve circulation.

It may become more apparent as time goes on, whether this is a varicosity or something else. Not sure what else....you may have to wait and see. Some questions:

How far along is this mom?
How many pregnancies has she had?
Does her family have a history of varicose veins, or does she otherwise already have varicosities in her legs/feet? (mother/maternal or paternal female relations)
Does she get much exercise, and how is her diet?
Is she symptomatic--can she feel this herself, with sex or anytime? pain or anything?

Knowing some of this could help figure out some answers.
