What are you doing to prepare for HP7?

I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I've been listening to the audio books (have all 6 on MP3, often listen to them while drifting off to sleep), but I don't pay close attention always when listening. But I'm thinking I've read the first books so many times its insane. Maybe I'll just reread 5 & 6.

What are you doing?

I am going to re-read OotP and that will be the last book I re-read. I haven't read it in a bit as Harry is rather annoying in that one.

I already re-read the others.

I re-read all 6 books, starting about 2 months ago. Now I've finished with them, and I'm afraid of getting sick of HP before the next one comes out, so I'm not planning to reread any of them before next week.

Instead, I've been reading all the HP threads on MDC, and chatting with DD2 about various theories that she's been reading online. At the present moment, DD2 is reading SS to DS, who isnt' listening very well. Ah, they've moved into another room, and I can no longer hear them. Maybe I'll reread just the first chapter of HP before next week.

I took out a couple of books from the library- from the young adult section, and nothing with sequels, so they'll be quick reads. I also have a non-fiction book (about diet and health) to tide me over- I don't want to get lost in another series right now, but I also don't want to get Harry Pottered out!

i've been leisurely re-reading the whole series in order since about march or april, and am nearly done with OotP right now. My plan is to finish HBP right before we leave for 7's midnite release party!

hmmm...I need to buy batteries for my booklight so i can read it in the car on the way home (DP's driving! )

I've been listening to all the audiobooks (currently on book 5).

Will have some Everyflavor Jelly Beans to snack on while reading Book 7. And maybe some chocolate turtles (don't know where to get chocolate frogs) and butterscotch scnapps (don't know where to get butterbeer).

I'll have to be nice to DH this week so he'll take the kids out on Saturday while I get a nap to make up for staying up late Friday and read, read, read.

I am also trying to build up my willpower to keep myself from reading the last few pages of the book as soon as it is in my hands.

I'm so jealous! I'd love to hear all the hp audio books but they're all checked out at our library (of course), and so are most of the books :

I wish I could somehow borrow them by downloading onto my pc, then I could listen to them on our household audio system. *le sigh*

So I guess I won't be doing anything...wish I could go to one of those cool release parties though (where's the little party hat guy??)

That makes us sound like we're rich or something, we're not DH just does that kind of stuff for a living, so we get leftover speakers and discounts from his vendors.
Doesn't take too much to wire a 900+ sq ft house anyway

When mom has finshed,we will start talking about it.When my sister gets home,i will have to try very hard not to hurry her along and give stuff away about the book away. that will be sooo hard. : why does she have to read soo slowly?:
Except that the book is being delivered on Shabbos so you won't be able to go online before about 9:00 PM. I wonder which of us will finish the book first.

Where did you preorder from? I'm considering borders, I got an email saying I could get it 40% off, that seems probably the best one can hope for on release day. But then last time the book was available practically on every street corner, so I'm wondering whether preordering is really necessary and would be more of an inconvenience really.

Actually this is exactly what I do! I waited a long time for each of them, ripped them to MP3, then I have a set of PC speakers in the cabinets above my stove with the input snaked down the back of the cabinets to near the counter where I plug it into my laptop.

I got mine from Books a Million. They are selling vouchers so you are basically buying your book ahead of time and you get free booklight. I understand Border is giving away free glowy wands so I might have to acquire a wand somehow for dd.

I've never heard of books a million, must not be around here. I have some money left on a border's gift card, so I should probably go there anyway.

um, your library doesn't have audio downloads? Ours does, and I always assumed we were behind everybody else..

Yeah..I hadn't heard of it either until they built this big outdoor mall by me, now it is the closest bookstore to me.

Oh..I also made a Lush order so I can take a super fantastic bath while reading.

I started rereading the series last week (or was it the week before?). I'm on book 4.

ETA: I checked the Book Challenge thread. I started reading them 10 days ago. I was wondering how fast I was.
I reread all 6 books two weeks ago and rewatched all 4 movies last weekend and then saw movie5 this week. So I feel pretty well prepared! Too bad my DH doesn't like HP!
Well, Ive reread all the books and since Ive finished a bit before i planned to, the kids and i are planning our costumes and accessories for the HP book release. Weve made polymer clay wands, and t-shirts with our favorite quiddich teams, and last night I beaded my daughter some radish earrings (they are the cutest things ever). Next week we will work on our Hogwarts schoolbags. Im so geeked!!! I swear that IRL I am as normal as can be:
