Help finding the presser foot pressure dial!

Hi, 32 year old, sewing impaired SAHM starting from scratch.

So I am sewing cloth diapers for the baby due in Oct, but this is a general sewing question, not specific to dipes. I've been pinning together a layer of fleece, microfiber and flannel to topstitch and turn. The top layer, no matter which side is up, always drags, so even though everything is perfectly aligned when I start, none of the edges match by the end of the first seam.

The layers aren't that thick, my machine is in good working order, do I need a special top feeding foot? Is there a trick I don't know? I tried googling for an answer, but I'm not even sure what I'm asking!

Help!

You might find a walking foot helpful to keep everything moving together.

Loosening up the presser foot tension might help. I sew on top of crisp thin tracing paper which tears away easily when I'm finished sewing the seam.

Oh I second the walking foot. It should make a huge difference. If you don't have one you can order one for about $20... You will love using it!

I don't think I can do this on my machine, my manual says nothing about it and I've been googling for half an hour with no luck!

Also, what's the difference between a rolling foot and a walking foot? My manual doesn't say which feet will fit my model either. What a headache:

I'm not familiar with the model that you have but on all my machines, the adjustment for the pressure on the presser foot is directly above it at the top of the machine on the inside under the top lid. There should be a screw that you can turn to adjust the pressure. You made need a screwdriver to do this. When the pressure is too much, it can make your fabrics shift, especially when sewing bulky or napped fabrics like flannel or terry.

A roller foot is usually used on materials such as leather and pleather, where the walking foot would damage the surface or finish, with it's pounding action. The roller foot lets the leather glice through without leaving a dent.

I've used three machines and the presser foot preasure was adjusted differently on each one. I have also used cheaper newer machines that simply don't allow you to adjust the preasure.

When I can't adjust the preasure I hold the fabric very taut in the direction that the seam if running in. I'm neither pulling the fabric through nor holding it back, justputting even tension on both ends so they can't shift or stretch. I hope that makes sense.
