How much fabric?

So when you find some crazy fabric and it's on sale for 80 percent off and you have no idea what to do with it but you know you're going to buy some...how much do you buy?:

Depends how much I love it. If I looooooove it I will buy 5 yards or maybe even more. If I just like it I will usually get 2 or 3 yards.

it depends on how much money I have. usually between 2-3 yards but if I can fit it in, I'll buy more.

I buy at minimum 3 yards. I've been known to buy up to nine, though (that's all that was left on the bolt).

I just ordered 24 yards of something at 90% off. I am SO the wrong person to ask I'm an enabler.

If it's a good enough price, I have enough money and I'm very sure that I'll be able to use it all {and not just really like it for vague reasons now, but fall out of love with it when I get home}, I'll buy as much as I can reasonably afford. The cape that I made for my son took almost 4 yards of fabric, so if I can find good materials at a low price I jump on it. I sew to sell though, so I eventually plan to recoup what I spend.

And how much of that fabric do you buy?

I was at the fabric store yesterday and got a yard of flannel that was on sale to either make some mama cloth or some snot rags. But then there was this crazy fabric with babies and dogs.It was bizarre but not as bizarre as the one where the babies heads were a bouquet. So I bought two yards. For what?I have no idea.

Then I was really curious if that was a lot or a little.Right now I'm still at the fiddling around stage of sewing and use a lot of old clothes and stuff for my sewing projects but I would like to have some fabric on hand for when I'm inspired.

I would like to build a stash but I don't want to go over board with a bunch of stuff I'll never use.

Ok,I do want to go over board and buy every cute fabric I ever see but I can't afford that nor do I have the room for it.

3 yards usually. That much can be used to make clothes or a decent crafty/quilting project. Of course if you have 6 yards you can use it for a quilt back! I am a stasher.... Eventually I will use it!

I find that I can usually make a skirt out of 3 yards, and a top out of 2.
