I'm almost 16 weeks and first thing is the morning its more prominent but its right below my belly button, I measured from my pubic bone to the top of the uterus and its 21cm already.

Do they start measuring this early, I forget or do they wait until further along?

I actually just started to really feel it. I found it when I was laying down. I actually started at the bottom where it was really hard and then made my way up towards my belly button. I could tell where it stopped due to it getting softer. It would be really easy to find after sex or orgasim as it contracts and you cant miss it.

I *think* I can feel mine, but then I second guess myself and think "well, maybe thats just my stomach muscles or something" I'm going to have a friend help me find it next week. I know in another month or so, I'll be able to find it no problem, but I want to find it now!

An easy way to tell between your uterus and stomach muscles are to lay down but lift your head and shoulders a little and feel your stomach muscles contract then lay back down, after a few times you should be able to tell the difference between the two.

when my midwife measured me at 15 weeks i was measuring 20! I guess its not a big deal, or at least she didnt seem concerned.

I'm 16 weeks and mine is about an inch ABOVE my belly button! At my last dr visit I was 14 weeks (I saw an NP, not the dr) and she just said "wow, your uterus has good growth, REALLY really good growth"! LOL! That's when I started checking myself. I wanted to see what the heck she meant by that.
I check by laying down. My uterus is much harder than the rest of my stomach and I can feel the top of it. It might be harder to feel if you have tighter tummy muscles though.

Oh, and at my OB's they don't actually start measuring until 20 weeks. Before then they just feel where the top is to make sure your growing.

Mine is about an inch above my bellybutton too. Maybe an inch and a half. For some reason I always feel baby kicking in that area too... is that weird?

Thanks for this thread - I thought I was feeling mine around my navel, but was totally second-guessing myself thinking it couldn't be up there *already*

Mine is somewhere beneath a nice, cozy roll of phat! I honestly don't know how the midwives can find it at all.
