Here are pictures of LTK hats I finished. What do you think?

Cute Monica. You're doing a great job so far. I think the soaker pattern is probably easier than the hat. I've already finished my second one! It looks so much better than the first, I think I'm getting the hang of it too. BTW Your little girl is adorable!

Thanks!

That is great that you finished a second one! That was fast! I am afraid the soaker might be harder than the hat because the of the "short rows" which looked a bit scary. The only trick on the hat is those darn double pointed needles- it's all in the round and the second one took only 2 days to knit.

Theresa has a pattern for soaker pants up on her site!!!!!

You did great Monica!

I have started my first soaker. I got about 5 rows done and then took it apart and started over because I was knitting too tight and it just didn't look right. It is looking much better now. I'm still on the ribbing on the waistband though. I'm afraid to do the short rows! :LOL

That Longies pattern is just so adorable! After I finish this newborn soaker I am going to get the Longie pattern. Monica, have you gotten it yet? Are the sizes comparable to the soaker pattern?

My dh is printing the pattern at work- we don't have a printer- I'll look at the sizes tonight. There were multiple sizes on the longies like on the soaker.

I know what you mean about knitting tight- I knitted so tight on the double points on my first hat (I was so nervous about them) I could hardly move the needles.

I could hardly move my needles too and the first round I did(after the cast on)was soooooo tight that I gave myself a blister pushing the stitches up. :LOL Live and learn, right?

Thanks Theresa!

Any soaker knitters still out there?

I just got my LTK pattern last week and my wool yesterday and I'm ready to start knittin'!!!

Still here, but I've slowed down on my knitting projects with Christmas almost here. I have to get that out of the way first. My next endeavor is the longies. They are soooo cute. I want to make several pairs with matching hats. They'll have to be gender neutral though as I still don't know what I'm having. I hope I finish them quickly since I'm due at the end of Jan. Best of luck to you. and show us a picture when you are finished.

Me, Me, Me!

I've ordered a "learn to knit" kit from Theresa.

My goal is to knit a soaker & longies for my son before he potty trains! :LOL

He just turned 2 last month, so I don't have a whole lotta time to do it in.

Yay!!!

I was doing pretty well with my soaker....now I'm up to my first short row and having a little trouble figuring out how to do the second wrap...but my mom is 20 minutes away and can usually make sense of just about any pattern so I'll let her take a look!

Ooooo......longies....that's where I'm headed next!!!

Alright, Lori! have fun knitting!

Erin, to purl the wrap, lift up the loop from the back onto your left needle and purl the two together... well, if you can get your mom to show you that would be great- I screwed this one up the first two times because I didn't pick up the loop from the back but the front.

I still haven't started my soaker :LOL I just keep making longies!!! My ds is potty training and so I must knit super fast!

hi Anne! Good luck Motherknature!
