Oh, pamela, I didn't so much get in trouble with DH, especially when I explained that even with my three big purchases for Atley (your soaker, Kendell's soaker, and the tie dye), I spent less on his *entire* diapering system than I did on one size of Samuel's Kissaluvs and Airflows. But, to make sure that's true (and to keep from truly getting in trouble), I have to not buy anymore big purchases, which stinks cuz I
the soaker you knit me. So I guess I have to learn.
Right now I'm working with acrylic still (haven't managed to get to the store that sells the wool), and making Jenny's soaker pattern because it's not knit in the round and I'm not quite sure I grasp the concept of knitting in the round. I need to get to the library and get a knitting book for increasing, decreasing and circular knitting. Then I'm going to attempt the LTK pattern and tweak it from there.
In September DH will be gone for a month and I've asked Nana (who taught me a little while she was here before Atley was born) if we might go down there and stay for a couple of weeks to help pass the time. If I do that, I'm gonna stock up on wool yarn before I go and make sure I take the LTK pattern and my needles with me. I know I'll come back knowing how to knit a soaker if I do that!! I'm so much more of a hands-on person that I'm having a hard time with this looking at pictures and trying to figure it out thing. Plus it doesn't help that I'm slow as all get out, and with a 4 week old (FOUR WEEKS!??!), I don't get much time to do anything that requires two hands.
If I ever make anything presentable, I'll post a picture of it
