I actually had my midwife's assistant come over and check my cervix, because dd wants to go to a friend's birthday party 45 minutes away and then we need to go 1/2 hour farther to pick up ds1 from a friend's house. Needless to say, I didn't want to go if I was actually in labor.

She said I was 1cm. So, 6 hours of contractions to get the baby's head to my cervix and dilate 1cm. Woo hoo. I guess we're going to the party.
