The way my midwife explained it, the hiccups would be more likely to cause the upper part of the baby to move/jump much more than the the baby's bottom, and when I thought about my own reaction to hiccups, it seemed to make a lot of sense to me. Even though they originate from the diaphragm, it would cause you to feel the part of the baby that reacted most to them. And I've only ever felt them either around the top of the fundus or right near my cervix, never near any midpoint. I Googled it and couldn't find verification on it, but the way she explained it really calmed my fears. Hope your little one is right where you want them!!
