Recent spoilers--Harry Potter DO NOT POST THEM - Page 3

I feel the exact same way. I am typically a very speedy reader. But, I really want to drag this one out and make it last. If it were up to me, I'd be tempted to limit myself to a chapter a day to make it last. But, I think I'm going to have to do the marathon all-night (or all day while avoiding any tv/radio/public place) read to avoid being spoiled. Then, I'll wait a week to get over my shock and sadness at one of my favorite characters getting killed and reread more slowly. I'm still in denial about it being the last book.

So, how did people get a hold of the pages to scan them and post the spoilers? I am just curious b/c my dh works for a company that provides machinery to the plant that print Harry Potter and when he was there doing some work, there was full on security around each press- and any waste that came off the press was immediately taken my security to somewhere secure so it could be destroyed. I am assuming it must be coming from somewhere that has already received the copies of the book, right?

I'm also gearing up to go to Pennsic these next two weeks, dealing with a flea infestation, and have to take my car to the mechanic for brake repairs. This is gonna be a rough coupla weeks. Part of me wants to save Deathly Hallows to read *at* Pennsic... but I know I'll run across a spoiler in the intervening two weeks if I do that :

We are leaving on Sat as well. AFTER our books arrive. What is bumming me out is that DH will have just worked a grave so I have to drive. When I get where we are going I'll meet up with family who will have had the luxury of reading on the drive up.

Libraries have received copies for cataloging.

What the heck was I thinking? We're going out of town this weekend. I'm leaving before my book will get to me, plus I wouldn't have time to read anyway. I hope no one spoils it for me. I think if anyone even starts to mention anything even remotely HP related, I'll cover my ears, yell, and run away.

Me either.... I gotta saw that Peep and the big wide world has helped me get dinner made on an occasional evening. And if we were not going to be with family and friends where there are non-Harry fans there (gasp, I know) I'd be doing the same. Or encouraging some nursing and naping.

Me, too. But I just don't think I have the self control to slow down! I read HBP in less than 36hrs including sleeping and eating, so hopefully I can slow down for this one, too!

here's my little bump, and comment. dh showed me clips on youtube the other day of people driving by and spoiling hbp. after i read it (don't know how i avoided spoilers, 'cause i read it a long time after it was out), a friend of mine said "bla bla bla" (you know what) and i looked at him with all seriousness and said, "if you had said that two weeks ago, we wouldn't be friends anymore!" i totally meant it too. i think it's completely cruel and pointless to do that to people!! and it's in no way FUNNY!

also, dh and i will both be equipped with headphones with our heads down friday night at midnight!

OH MAN I AM PISSED. I just got spoiled on a totally unrelated to Harry potter thread!!! And in a discussion with another member about it, they sent me a clip from a news article that says scholastic is trying to remove the particular spoiler from the net because it's real!!!

What the article said concerning scholastic: I put this in spoilers because I dont know what people consider to be or not and this but might confirm a spoiler that someone else got talked into. (this is the news article from scholastic)
