Has anyone sewn sheets for a co-sleeper?

I got an Arm's Reach Cosleeper for a wicked bargain, but I cannot see spending almost $20 on sheets. Mine came with one, and I think I might be able to copy it, but it looks rather complicated, and my thought is that maybe it wouldn't be worth all the time it will take, and that I should just find some cheap ones on ebay.

Anyone tried it?

I'm thinking you could make a pillowcase style rather easily. I don't know what the mattress of the arm's reach looks like, but pillowcase style sheets are easy to put on, are very safe, and pretty easy to make, if they'll fit that way. The co-sleeper sheets we have look easy enough to make, as well, but I think I'd still do it the other way...just plain quicker to do.

We had an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and I used sheets from a Pack 'n Play on it.

I never sewed any sheets myself, but I would think you could sew up some fitted sheets with elastic corners and they'd work well with it.

FWIW, we ended up using ours to hold bottled water and clean diapers.

I made some a couple of years ago. I just kinda made them up as I went. I measured the mattress, length and width, and then added about 5 inches on each side. I wrapped the fabric I cut around the actual mattress, flipped it over, and trimmed, then pinned up the excess on the bottom at each of the four corners.

ETA: Forgot to say after pinning, I sewed up the bottom pinned seams, one for each corner. (duh!)

Then I sewed in 1/4 inch elastic all around the perimeter.

I did it this way because I wanted to be sure I had a nice, tight fit, and it worked great! The elastic around the perimeter, with a generous amount of sheet on the underside, kept it snug.

Sorry it's not more specific, but it's really not that hard. You should give it a try.

I didn't sew sheets for a co-sleeper, but I have sewn sheets for a snugglenest.

I just laid the mattress on my fabric, traced around it, and added several inches to fold over. Then I hemmed the edges and folded them over and sewed them together, kind of envelope style so it would just slip over the mattress edges on either end. I didn't use elastic because I didn't want to deal with it.

I got the idea from some pack-n-play sheets that I bought that didn't have elastic either.

I just finished sewing two sheets for my mini co-sleeper. I'm not sure if the mattress is the same as for a full-sized though.

I just took the sheet that came with it off and traced it, then made a sample version in muslin to test out the size and construction methods. It's not bound at the corners and there's no velcro on the bottom of the sheet as there is on the one that came with it, but I don't think that really matters. There isn't any elastic in it anywhere either. Just having the right size is important so it's snug. Once my muslin worked out (after 2 tries), I took it apart and used it as a pattern on some cute baby print cotton. It's very very basic, and it'll work!

Good luck.
