First of all
:. We were on a short camping trip yesterday and today, and like a smart mom who has it all together, I forgot to bring insect repellant.
We were at a campground with a large lake, so when dusk hit, there were mosquitos everywhere. DH got it the worst, as he was at the lake fishing at dusk; he has atleast 80 bites all over his body. I have less, probably 20ish, but I react really badly to mosquito bites (I'm guessing because my enviornmental allergies are so severe), so my arms are nice and swollen where the bites are. It looks like DS doesn't have any, thank God!
Thankfully, I had Hyland's bug bite ointment with, so that gave us at least some relief. It was too late by that time to make a trip into town to get some repellant. The people we were with only had stuff loaded with Deet, and I decided that I'd rather take the bites over the potential harm to my family, esp. my unborn child.
So, now that we're here and bitten up (and we've used up all of the Hyland's ointment), what should we take or apply? I know that I can take Benadryl, but I'd really rather take something natural/homeopathic. I had a hard time finding info with a google search, but I did read that Apis is a good one, so I'm going to take that right now, since I have some here. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
