How exciting! I shall answer as best I can.

If you could have any wild animal as a pet what would it be?
I would like a peacock to wander around my yard. I would feel too guilty having a leopard or something.

Whats your fav color?
Cobalt Blue

How did you find MDC?
When I was pregnant with dd1 a friend of mine suggested it as I was completely lost in a prenatal world where I couldn't find anything that sounded right.

What is your fav food?
I really like all food and my favorites depend on seasons and moods...
A steady favorite is always a nice strong cheese and a nice strong wine.

Did you go to college? What did you study?
I went to the University of Notre Dame and my major was called the Program of Liberal Studies...so basically I studied the great books/philosophy/literature. I also did a lot of theatre in college.

How many kids do you want?
2, we think this is it for us. However, I change my mind a lot, so we'll see.

Would you rather live near mountains, grasslands, ocean, river or lake?
A river, in a secluded, wooded area. Mountains nearby wouldn't hurt.

On a scale of 1-10 how crunchy would you rate yourself?
7ish I suppose. I'm attached/homebirthing/organic eating/cloth diapering, I own some birkenstocks. I don't have compost or a garden at the moment, but we'll be moving to a house that will be more condusive to those things. I don't know how much crunchy credit I get.

Tell me a silly story about you as a child?
I once pooped in my brother's closet for revenge.

Do you know or want to know what the babies sex is?
We are not going to find out. We didn't find out with dd and it was so wonderful. However, I find it so much more tempting this time to find out!

How did you meet your partner?
We met in college, my husband and I are both actors. I knew him the first three years and didn't know that he had a crush on me until senior year. I did not think he was my type at all, but he turned out to be my perfect match.

What are your favorite foods?
cheesy, winey, olive oily, garlicly, gooood bread. Really anything in France, Italy or Greece.

Do you garden?
Not at the moment. I grow some herbs but I haven't been able to invest the time to have a garden at this particular house.

Do you have pets?
we do not have pets at the moment. I really want a cat.

What is your favorite types of music?
I like any music that makes me feel good. Good rock. I love Mozart. I love folky music.

What is your dream profession?
My dream profession would be my husband and I completely supporting ourselves with our acting in Chicago and always being able to schedule our lives around our children. Then I'd become a professor.

What family member are you closest to and why?
I am closest to my father. We have always been very like minded. He is the most wonderful human being I've ever known.

Do you have a childhood activity/habit that you can't give up?
Eating salt and vinegar potato chips. Taking long baths and going to the bathroom with the door open.

What's your favorite season and why?
Autumn. I love the feeling of change in the air, the anticipation of winter, the smell of the leaves, college football and grey skies on chilly sweater days.

Did anyone in particular inspire your crunchy habits and how?

In the context of pregnancy/birthing yes. When I was pregnant the first time, I hadn't thought about it much before but I did know that I wanted a natural birth and I knew that I wasn't comfortable with any old OB--I've known too many pre-med students. (of course that doesn't apply to all) I talked to a friend of mine, actually my husbands friend's wife to whom I am now close and she introduced me to the accessiblity and the possibility of homebirth with a midwife.
As far as the rest of my crunchiness, it's just evolved from a desire for what is good and just in this life. Influenced by many many people.

What sort of acting do you do? What's your dream role?

Looks like your daughter is almost two years old. What's she like?

Have you traveled? Where have you been? Where do you still want to go?

What's your birth plan for this baby? Is it pretty much the same as your first?

Do you work outside the home now? Is acting you or your husband's primary job?

What advice do you wish someone had given you with your first baby?

Dumb question: How far away from Chicago is Bloomington?

Do you act in any Chicago theatre?

If you weren't acting what would you be doing?

Were you AP as a child?

Where did you grow up?

What'd your brother do that made you decide to poop in the closet?

How do you think this will compare to your first birth? Will your daughter be there for the birth?

How are you preparing your daughter for the new baby? How do you think she will react?

What did you do with your first baby that you want to avoid this time around? What do you want to repeat?

What sort of acting do you do? What's your dream role?
Straight theatre. All sorts not musicals lately. I love the classics. Dream role would be Paulina in the Winter's Tale (Shakes), but I'll have to wait a few years.

Looks like your daughter is almost two years old. What's she like?
She is a little crazy person. So much fun. Very small for her age, always on the go. Loves shoes, always has messy hair no matter what I do, she's wearing my tank top right now--which is a dress on her, she insists that it belongs to her. Her favorite food is blueberries.

Have you traveled? Where have you been? Where do you still want to go?
I have traveled throughout my life. I've been to lots of Europe, lived in England for a while growing up. I've only been as far as Jordon and Israel though, I'd really like to go to the other side of the world.

What's your birth plan for this baby? Is it pretty much the same as your first?
It is pretty much the same as the first, same midwife but probably a different house. Just me and dh.

Do you work outside the home now? Is acting you or your husband's primary job?
I've done 2 show since Fiona was born. I consider myself a SAHM, I'll only audition for something if dh will be able to be home while I'm rehearsing. My husband recently finished his Master of Fine in Acting here at Indiana U. That's what brings us to B-town. Acting is his primary job at the moment, at Indiana Rep Theatre, however, he is currently looking for something that provides insurance and ehem money, at least for a while.

What advice do you wish someone had given you with your first baby?
Honestly, none. I love the way I learned whatever I learned as I became a mother.

Dumb question: How far away from Chicago is Bloomington?
4 hours by car. It's an hour south of Indianapolis.

Do you act in any Chicago theatre?
Not right now. I lived in Chicago for a brief 6 month period after college, I did a show at Live Bait and one with the Mammals theatre co.

If you weren't acting what would you be doing?
I really don't know. Getting a phd in lit or something, working in academia.

Were you AP as a child?
Somewhat I suppose.

Where did you grow up?
Houston, TX and Woking, Surrey, UK.

What'd your brother do that made you decide to poop in the closet?
It'd been an ongoing battle. At the time we were staying in a condo at the beach and he locked me and my friend out on the balcony for a long time. I think that was the last straw. It was all I could do.

How do you think this will compare to your first birth? Will your daughter be there for the birth?
Hopefully it will be a bit faster. My first birth was 35 hours total. I should be careful what I wish for though. I'll have to decide whether or not I want Fiona there as it gets closer, she'll be 2.5 and I'm not sure if she'll be able to handle my being in labor and unable to give her my attention while I'm wailing. If we decide that she shouldn't be there my parents will be on hand to watch her.

How are you preparing your daughter for the new baby? How do you think she will react?
For now, we talk about the baby in my belly all the time. I plan on getting a book or two to read to her. She really loves babies right now so I think she'll be excited. It will be an adjustment for her though not to be the absolute center of our worlds.

What did you do with your first baby that you want to avoid this time around? What do you want to repeat?
I honestly don't know what I would change, I guess that will depend on this new babe. We MAY have to try...dare I say it...scheduling this one a bit more.
