Wow, this sums up all of my pg-related pet peeves in one sentence. I am already sick of people offering things we don't want/need but not taking no as an answer. I do appreciate their generosity, but my house is not a dump. Give it away on Freecycle and leave me alone!

Moreover, since I have to feed, house, and clothe these kids it's really not like I have a choice since money still doesn't grow on trees. Plus, someone needs to hire me ASAP because I'm growing out of my interview suit!
This is one of mine as well. I'm just applying for entry level call-center type positions because I don't want anything big, just someplace I can go to and make enough money to help us get by.

One place is calling me back, but since they call each morning at 9 or so, I always miss the call since I'm usually preoccupied with dd at that time. And then when I call them back, I just get messages. I left another voicemail today and will call back a few more times. I'm hoping I get the position. No set schedule, you just have to have all of your hours in by 5pm Friday. It would be nice since I've got midwife appts for me, and dd has a dentist and WBV both coming up, etc. Plus I could work extra the rest of the week and have the same days off as DH, and I can work around my school schedule come January. Its certainly not my dream job (calling businesses and verifying info for phonebooks) but it'll do for now, kwim?

This is a bit bigger than a pet peeve - but losing all autonomy when it comes to my health, when others are involved.

More specifically, my OB's office treating me with infantile tones and condescension, absolutely unwilling to let me to make decisions on my own, about my own health.

My OB herself is pretty great, but it seems the rest of my city has realized this - and she is extremely hard to schedule down with. I didn't see her this month, and will not be able to next month. (I don't really understand why this is acceptable in the medical world, she's my provider - and yes, I know she's busy, so I'll wait. Apparently you can't wait, waiting a few days after your supposed monthly prenatal deadline is just unacceptable. : )

Very recently I had a reaction to my gut flora being wacky (hives + swelling) and I treated myself, bulking up my immune system with vits + herbs & probiotics.
When explaining this to the nurse - she exclaimed "Well, whats the name of the doctor that gave you permission to do this?" : And after I said probiotics, "Pro-what??"
Thank you very much, but I take responsibility for my health.

On my first prenatal, the initial nurse told me that I needed to get my blood and HIV tests today. I explained to her that I wasn't going to have an HIV test this time around, (had one about 6 months ago with a check up, I'm confident I have had little chance of exposure) she told me, "Well, its policy." I explained to her that it was illegal for them to make me take an HIV test.
"I'm pretty sure you need to."
I respectfully told her no, and to check the current laws with an OB if she had any more questions about it. She huffed off.
Not before smiling and patting the exam table, in a doggy 'come hither' type way.

I may be sensitive, but Damn it. I AM A WOMAN. NOT A BABYMACHINE.

Hands down, my biggest pregnancy pet peeve is my MIL yelling into my belly whenever I see her. Not only does she look and sound like a flippin' idiot, but seriously - does she think her grandchild is going to bond with her that way?? Thank god we rarely see her!

I also get the "You're due WHEN? You're so big already! How many do you have in there??!!" Yup - thanks people. I enjoy having it pointed out, loudly, that I'm huge! As if I was completely unaware until that point.

I'm sure there's more, but those are my biggest ones!

Hear, hear! I'm all with ya on that one.

Me - my MIL inquiring if I was concerned I might smother the baby when we're cosleeping... and even worse me just smiling and saying 'No' rather than telling her to MHOB.

Oh, and again my MIL. Being in a panic when I declined the following:

*crib
*change table
*dresser
*stroller

Not because we don't need/use them - the first three I have no room for, babe is bunking with me and 4.5 year old dd, and the fourth... I have one already.
