So, I just made my first bendy doll out of a wooden bead, a pipecleaner and some embroidery floss. Now, how do I clothe her?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Sally Maevor's (sp?) book - Wee Felt Folk has lots of clothes. I usually borrow that one from the library but if you think you will make lots of bendies it is worth buying. DD1 is still a little young to play with them.

Tiny bits of felt whipstitched together. It would seem easier to pop the head off and slip the shirt on. Unless, you've glued already. Then just stitch the 2 shirt or dress pieces together while they are on the body. I like to use embroidery floss with felt.

Usually the clothes are put on before the head - especially if making them from felt.
I don't use felt for mine, though - I sew little outfits out of quilter's cotton and lightweight denim. All of the sewing is done by hand, because it's really difficult to get tiny pieces like that to behave under a machine presser-foot.
I try to keep clothing items one-piece - shirts and dresses are cut so that the sleeves are already there, and pants only have back seams and inseams. The fewer seams you can get by with, the better. Just remember to add seam allowances and hem allowances!

Thanks everyone. My doll is still unclothed, but I did wind up buying your pattern for Fern Friends, mehndi mama, and really like the way it's laid out. I started to make her a little dress out of some scrap cotton, and I'll sew it on her when I get a chance
I also started on some better-proportioned dolls, per the Fern Friends pattern
