Nice things people have done for me cause I'm pregnant.

Last week for the first time ever two ladies on line in a public restroom insisted I go ahead of them when a stall opened up. I told them I was okay, but they refused to go ahead of the pregnant lady.

Today I bought a bunch of bulky stuff at Target, and wound up needing two shopping carts for it all, along with my 3 year old son in tow. A woman on line behind me unloaded all the heavy stuff like laundry deterg at the register, and then sent her teenage daughter along with me to help get me to the car. She even took the carts back!

A almost scarry looking young man held the door for me at the AM/PM as I approched...That really never happens in SoCal.

That's really great! I love hearing stories like that! I've had lots of nice things done for me this pregnancy. A lot of them have to do with the restroom. Like, people will let me go ahead of them when there's a line. Once a guy was just about to close the ladies restroom at the mall to clean it but he let me go ahead but made others wait. But the nicest thing so far? I will only drink bottled water this pregnancy. We went to a restaurant once and they didn't sell bottled water and I didn't want soda or juice but our waiter had his own (unopened) bottle for himself and he gave it to me. We left a really good tip!

A friend of mine's husband brought me an a/c unit to use in the window downstairs yesterday. I am seriously am in heaven here now. I can actually do dishes and laundry without feeling like I am going to pass out!! WOOHOO!!

During my last pregnancy I was waiting in line at a busy restaurant at lunch. This man's name was called, and he saw me and insisted that my friend and I take his place in line. Being hormonal, I burst into tears. It was so nice!!!!

Now it really makes my day if another mom sees me waddling and gives me a smile. It helps so much!!!

Ahhh, these stories are so nice! As you guys know, I really do have the nicest boss on the planet. I work across town from him, but he makes a point of coming to see me often to check on me and is always bringing me things to eat, which as a pregnant woman who doesn't get a break at work, I love!
My DH has taken over mostly all of the household duties and has even got the kids involved in cleaning! The house is still not clean by my standards, but at least they keep it picked up!

people are fairly nice and help me carry things, open doors for me, give me seats on the bus, etc, but i have a definite favourite pregnancy perk:

one of my jobs is at a group home for mentally handicapped women. one of the women is just evil. she's manipulative and mean and generally awful. but somewhere along the line someone must have told her that you have to be nice to pregnant women or it upsets the baby. so instead of the usual insults and cuss words and manipulation she is as sweet as honey. i've recommended to all my coworkers that they start wearing beach balls under their shirts at work.

almost every day a guy will say to my baby "good bless you baby."

i always get a seat on the subway.

Lucky PiePie! I still don't get seats on the bus, and I am so very obviously pregnant. I don't know what is wrong with people! I see them let little old ladies stand too.

When I was about halfway through my pregnancy, a guy in the produce section of the supermarket went in the back to get me the fresher vegetables that they hadn't put out yet.

My father found an antique cradle from the Civil War that I love. My MIL insists that everything needs to be new for the baby. My father said he didn't want to cause trouble for me with my MIL, so if I wanted he could withdraw the cradle from availability to prevent the fighting. I told him no way, i want that cradle, and now is an excellent time to start putting our foot down with MIL.

We can't get a diaper service to come here, and we don't have the capacity to wash that much stuff ourselves with our current facilities. My father offered to come pick up diapers once a week and wash them however we want. Nice sentiment, but not practical since there is a $9 toll in between, plus he is living somewhere else half the year. I told him we would make do with sposies for the 6 months remaining before we move, and then we will make sure to have appropriate washing facilities.

i totally relate. we will use a diaper service, but without that, no way. no laundry in the building. if we were to come into $, i would want an apt. with a washer/dryer in unit!

I was really sick about a week ago, and people from my church have brought us a TON of food (hot and ready for dinner) and there's more to come nearly every night for a MONTH! On Monday someone dropped off about 6 frozen meals, and we're getting more on Sunday at church!

Last night someone drove 2 hours round trip to lend us a chest freezer to store all of the food.

I'm completely overwhelmed and humbled by the kindness! Wow.

Wow I'm soooo jealous! Cooking dinner is the bane of my existence right now.
