So at Target's post-Christmas blowout clearance for the past few years, I've been getting gift wrap, etc., for the following year.
A couple of years ago, I bought a huge multipack of Christmas paper that included many rolls appropriate for any occaison. Most of the rolls have gold and silver foil in them, so I also bought a huge bag of gold and silver bows, and a spool each of gold and silver ribbon. If I remember right, this cost about $5.
This past year, I bought myself a gift wrap organizer, a paper cutter, and a pop up tape dispenser (scroll down) with four sets of refills for about $12.
Yesterday, I had to wrap some gifts, and I was downsizing a little to make room for a Ziploc bag of my homemade gift tags (my Gramma Buddy used to make awsome homemade gift tags with old greeting cards, pinking shears, construction paper, a hole punch, and glitter, and I've started doing the same thing) and I realized that I really enjoyed wrapping presents a lot more since everything was neat, organized, and I had all the right tools. I am really good about saving gift bags/boxes now, because when they are folded down, they fit in the Rubbermaid container beautifully.
It doesn't take up much space at all, and alltogether, this stuff cost me less than $20.
So I think that I will get some stuff like this at this year's Target post-Christmas blowout clearance, and give the "wrapping kits" to hard to buy for people. Granted, this won't be given out until 2008, but, hey, I'm planning ahead!
I think mine will include:
-Rubbermaid gift wrap storage
-paper cutter
-pop tape dispenser and refills (the tape dispenser come with a holder that sticks in place beautifully in the lid of the Rubbermaid container)
-a couple gallon size ziploc bags for bows, ribbon, etc
-a tiny pair of scissors for curling ribbon
-if I find a fanstastic sale, wrapping paper, bows, etc.
HTH somebody.
