Preschooler deschooling to Waldorf question

Hello,

My almost 4 year old son was in preschool for 2 years. We are going to Waldorf homeschool starting this fall. Although, I have actually already started it.

I have my daily household maintenance routines. I sing to transition from one task to the next so that he knows what is going on, and as an invitation. So far he is completely uninterested in helping me (make the bed, do dishes or laundry). But then he will lay in the livingroom saying "I'm lonely" in a sing song voice over and over again. I'll offer for him to come and be with me, but he will reject the idea.

Any experience or suggestions? I have a 2 month old, and the morning cleaning routines must be done daily or the house will go down hill incredibly quickly.

Thanks,

Jennifer

What about investing in some child sized tools to make the invitation more....inviting? He can have his own dishpan, his own broom, his own caddy.....

It worked here.
