They also hunt & Fish with dh several times a month.
Basketball is $50 per boy plus we pay $8.00 per game (every Saturday) for admissions. And then we pay for shoes, shorts and gas to travel to the games which are up to 3 hours away. Tournement weekends are more expensive though.
Baseball is $50 per child, games are free, but we buy shoes and gloves, belts and socks. We travel for the older boys but not that far.
Soccer is $40 per child games are local and we buy cleats, shorts, shin guards and socks. games are free.
Football is new this fall so I am not sure how much it will be yet. Plus cleats.
Oh and we buy sports pictures for all of these as well. at the tune of 20-30 bucks a pop.
Camps run from 50-75 per child.

DD does horse back riding and this is all she is interested in. Unfortunately she only gets to ride every other weekend because she is with her father and he lives 2 hrs away from us so she can't get to the barn those weekends. It's not possible for her to ride after school because I work until around 5:00.
I'm hoping when she gets a little older we can lease a horse so that she can go to the barn without me and ride more often. We belong to the UU church so she attends the sunday school there and they have extra activities which she enjoys. She used to be in Brownies but isn't interested in it any longer.

my son is nearly 17. Currently he is still involved in boy scouts (not very expensive-80 dollars a year in dues)
He fences-this is 450 dollars every six months.
He does air soft/paintball-Currently he and his friends are doing airsoft which is cheaper and they are finding fields to playin for free. He spends perhaps 15 dollars a month. He just got a new un for 45 dollars.
He likes to game-this probably aobut 50 dollars a monath.
He likes to mod his car. I have him work for this -he is currenlty workin for a tuner.
My daughter is involed in volleyball _USAV and AAU -this past season it was a little over a thousand dollars not counting expenses to travel to the eight tournaments. This summer dhe did the loca schol camp (150) and this week is doing a camp through the University of Fl (225) Shfe will be on JV team from local high school even though we homeschool. It will be free-not slure if we have to pay for uniforms. She is doing voice lessons which are 30 dollars for 45 minutes. Girl scouts and youth group at church are prtty much free. Movies and shopping which she loves are pricer. She likes to dosnload music on Itunes. Sallie

18 yr old-- music-- had daily music classes in HS (he graduated) and 2 or more private lessons a week, depending on instrument/preformance shedule. So maybe 35- 50/week. Toured with a scholastic jazz program. Free.
Also paid for some summer programming (writing, foreign language lessons-- that sort of thing) over the years. Hard to say how much. When he was younger, he played tennis and took sailing lessons at through a city program.
15 yr old-- art a few hundred a year, about $500, for college classes and materals. Voice and guitar lessons weekly. Voice is about $65/mos, guitar a little less. Used to have a passion for riding and cleaned stalls. No longer rides. Loves tennis (varies $ we try to do the town programs, and now she can play on the HS team as MA allows hsers to participate in extra curricular). Homeschooler
13 yr old- Town tennis, town baseball, school soccer and basketball, music lessons-- about $60/mo
8 yr old-- Summer sailing (two mornings a week for 4 or so weeks), town tennis (summer only) , town soccer in fall, summer art camp -- about 6 mornings, all told. Will start violin lessons in Sept and that will be about $60/mo. Homeschooler.

Both dd and ds do karate- $100 each a month
dd also has done or will do depending on if she want to:
Theater, basketball and softball. Those are free
ds will soon start music lessons. Not sure what those will cost as dh is the one figuring out where to sign him up.

10 yo:
- piano lessons (works out to something like $60 a month)
- chorus (school activity -- we pay like $35 a year for sheet music)
- church youth club ($75 a year)
- Swim team ($60 a month)
7 yo:
- soccer ($35 a season, above and beyond our Y membership)
- Suzuki guitar (a small fortune. I think like $140 a month. I really try not to think about it - just enjoy how adorable he is when he plays.)
They both occasionally try something else, which is fine. They've tried basketball, they've tried each other's sports, they've tried art classes. 10 yo. wants to go out for math leauge at school. Talks about chess club too, but doubt he'll find the time for everything.

How do I love Boys and Girls Clubs? Let me count the ways.........
DS 13
Football (at the moment) $35 for the season, I had to buy new cleats.
Baseball $35 for the season, again, I only had to buy cleats.
(Why do boys feet grow so fast?)
Basketball; free at Boys and Girls Club.
Swimming lessons, free B&Gs Club
Math and Reading tutoring, free
DD 11
Ballet, 10 weeks, 5 lessons per week, $10.00
Acting class, free
Swimming lessons, free
Yoga, free
Basketball, free
A lot of what they do is part of their B&G's Club summer camp, except for DS' football, which is Pop Warner.

Marley (10)
Chorus - free!
Painting Club - $30 session
or she chooses instead of painting club...(they fall on the same day)
Yoga - free!
Horse Camp - $130 for one week session. This was her first summer.

DS is 8
He does
Year Round
Tae Kwon Do
Guitar (well, we're in our second month, we'll see how long this lasts)
Aftercare at his school (does that count?) sometimes they have classes there that they can sign up for -- he's taken drama, nature studies, and tag at various times in the past two years)
Fall and Spring
Neighborhood Rec Soccer
Summer
Summer camp -- they do archery, nature stuff, swimming, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, soccer, basketball, and plenty of "running around in the woods, getting filthy and otherwise having fun".
Winter
He skis a fair amount -- although it's formal, no lessons just skiing with mom.
Last winter he took a film making class. He wants to take more, but there's only one 2-3 grade class and since he already took it he has to wait until 4th grade to take more. He's asked to take cartooning, but I don't see where we'd fit it in.
