Hi! looking for a site to get crayons (stockmar preferably, but does not have to be), beeswax, etc. And of course looking to save money! Thanks!!

I'm also looking for some of the same materials...sorry, no site recommendation.

This probably isn't the cheapest (personally thoroughly missing Mercurius) but it's a good site and they have Stockmar, Lyra, and their own brand--
here's the link to Paper Scissors Stone's crayon page

The rationalization about buying Stockmar is that they do really last for a very long time. Like years. As long as your toddler doesn't eat them, or put them in the laundry.

You can join mer- however you spell that company and get supplies at good prices if you homeschool. I just submitted my application the other day.

I'm also looking for a place to buy used copies of some of the books that are recommended in the curriculum we bought. I've looked on amazon, ebay, and half.com. Non of them seem to have them. It would be really really cool if anyone knew of a Waldorf Used Bookstore. Or if anyone with older kids had some of the beginning readers to pass on to younger kids.

I haven't checked lately (but I should) whether Michelle at Greentaramama (there's a yahoo group with the name) is still doing Mercurious buys. I don't know what their minimum is.

p.s. she may also do a Steiner book order if there were interest. It is hard to find certain books used. Then after you buy them new they show up somewhere. There is also a yahoo group for selling used curricula and books, but I forget the name.

Oh, and depending how long you will want certain books, it can be worth it to join the Anthroposophical Society so you can use the mail library.
