Waldorf Doll Sellers?

I hope this is okay to post here - I'll give it a try. Does anyone make and sell Waldorf Dolls? If so, do you do okay? I would love to hear about your successes and failures, what works and what doesn't. I just love crafting these beautiful dolls!

Hi. I make and sell Waldorf dolls. I have been at it for more than 15 years. I have been a toy designer for about 30 years. What is is that you would like to know?

I had a link to my Hyena Cart in my addy for awhile and I will probably get another, a bit closer to the Christmas season. I used to sell my original Waldorf works on consignment on Joy Chamber's website, but I'm on H.C. exclusively, at the moment.

Here's a link to my Photobucket-

Good luck with your doll making and selling. I found it so addictive, that selling was a logical step for me. I also donate dolls for charity. Your local Waldorf school store or "The Fiber Avengers" is a good place to start with this rewarding activity.

Beautiful Doll E.V. One question I have is did you design your own dolls or did you license someone else's patterns? Also, do you get your supplies wholesale and if so where - if you don't mind me asking? If you'd rather discuss this off forum let me know and I'll pm you. Thanks - you've been helpful thus far!

Thanks you so much for your kind comment. I design and create my own. You can see more photos of my work on my HC. I purchase wholesale or in quantity, in order to receive discounts, or I wait for a sale. Feel free to contact me by PM If you have any questions.

Here's another link to more of my dolls-

They are so beautiful E.V.

I have one question myself.... What is the idea behind Waldorf dolls?

Amy, thank you! I would like to try and answer your question, but you really need to see one and hold it in your arms to begin to understand what the attraction is.

When I saw my dd's reaction to her first waldorf doll, a 16" Playmate from Hearthsong that she named "Sally", I was just blown away by the instant bonding effect. She was 5 yo and never much cared for dolls, up to that point. There is something about the simple faces that allow for the imagination to read a wide range of emotion and feeling into the doll. The child is not stuck with a fixed expression, like on a plastic molded face with harsh or hard fixed features. A Barbie can only look one way, super happy, which can be pretty annoying. Dolls like that are almost taunting to a child's sensitivity. In addition to the simple facial expressions, the natural fibers- clean carded wool stuffing, formed and then covered with pure, long staple cotton interlock skin and a mohair wig, breathes and warms when held and feels alive as it returns the warmth back to the child. It is simply irresistible.

They are not difficult to make, once you learn how and I find it a very satisfying vocation- Hey, aren't you looking for a new hobby? Waldorf dolls dressed with your particular flair would be wildly popular, I'm sure!

See? I knew I would get a very articulate and thoughtful answer from you, E.V. That is just what I was wondering about. Yes, they do look like fun to make. I don't need another business, though (i am officially retiring), but I could use another hobby. (No, did I say that?)

Yes, I want to make some. Where are the tutorials?

OK E.V.... Can you post a link to your site with the Waldorf dolls here? Or send me a PM? I want to see them to fee inspired before ordering a kit (for starters). I want to go ahead and make a doll for Isabel for her birthday, and I *may* get it done by late October if I order it now.

There is a coop for www.dancingraindolls.com going on right nor on Hyena Cart. Amy carries the best quality materials and has some great patterns for sale, as well.
