Garage Sale Find

I think this is the place for this.

I stopped by a garage sale this past saturday, almost passed it by because there was very little left. Then remembered my mom always saying, "you never know..." so I stopped. There was a brand new Le Creuset 3 1/2 qt french oven for 20 dollars. My dp thought I was crazy because I never pay 20 bucks for anything at a garage sale. I am strictly a dollar kind of gal. So when I got home I looked it up on amazon and showed him the original price, 159.99 (and that is on sale too). This thing is brand new! It has been sitting on my stove, unused, since saturday. For some weird reason I can't make myself use it because it looks so nice new.

I told my mom, sister, sis-in-law and a ton of other people and no one really gets why I am so excited. They just seem happy that I am excited about something. I want someone to appreciate my good deal!

I am usually a dollar kind of gal at garage sales, too. This past weekend I bought two awesome things to put back for the boys for Christmas and spent $20 on one (great condition child's drum set) and $15 on the other (Wooden Horse stable $125 new). I totally understand your excitement!

It's a ridiculously nice cast-iron enameled cookpot with a lid. Wow, that's just amazing. I wanna go to the garage sales by YOU!

Cool! This is where I think window shopping online helps - if you window shop for what you want, then you know how to spot it and how much its worth, kwim?

I couldn't believe it when I saw it sitting there amongst all the usual glasses and coffee mugs you see at garage sales. Gosh, I wish I could figure out something really nice to cook in it.

True, very true! I also keep a Wish List file for this purpose.

What a great find! That's such a nice size, too! I tend to find the 1-quart size (and have two in my pantry).

I can't seem to pass up good quality cookware when I find it!
